Super fun most of the time, but has a TON of infuriating bugs that haven't been fixed despite the game having been out for years now. They keep releasing DLC, but don't fix well known bugs, mostly with the Skaven.

For example:

The number of uses for the "from below" ability that spawns a unit of clanrats is ALWAYS 1 less in battle than you pay for. IF you pay for 5 uses, you get 4. if you pay for 7 uses, you get 6.

Warplock Jezzelles (Skaven long-range units) will often attempt to charge in to melee, even if they have a very clear shot. Sometimes they will refuse to shoot at all and will ONLY charge into melee

Healing potions do not work on some lords

Sometimes using the underway uses food despite it not requiring food

Sometimes playing as Eshin glitches the overworld view and you cannot select cities until the next turn

Sometimes the food focus for single-city areas will actually subtract food instead of giving it. You need to restart the game to fix this

There are hundreds of other glitches I could mention, like how sometimes when you use auto-resolve on a battle with a guaranteed victory (such as 4 full armies vs a single city with a minimal garrison) actually ends up in a draw or crashes the game, but if I tried to list every Skaven glitch, I'd run out of characters.

TL:DR

Amazing game, but absolutely infuriating that they keep releasing expensive DLC instead of fixing the plethora of glitches. I can't recommend this game until they fix at least SOME of the damn bugs. They give Bathesda a run for their money when it comes to bugs and glitches.

Buy the lost chapters instead. I liked this version on the Xbox 360... kinda... they removed a lot of the over exaggerated style from the game, but meh, whatever, the graphics were better...

HOWEVER: On the PC this game is a mess. The input lag is insane, you can't change any meaningful settings, and on top of all that, it has some sort of mouse smoothing feature that you CANNOT turn off. For example: I move my mouse to the left. a FULL SECOND LATER it finally starts to move, but only slowly, picking up speed until finally deciding to stutter over to where I moved my mouse, several seconds ago.

This game is an unplayable wreck unless you use a controller. Fable TLC does not have these issue, and it's cheaper and much more fun

This game is literally just dark souls prepare to die with DSfix and some minor texture changes. They didn't fix ANY of the problems.

This game is insulting.

most of the performance problems have been fixed, but not all of them. You need some CHONKY hardware to avoid stuttering. Other than that, loads of new features and revisions have made the game excellent

Payment for premium currency never goes through, constant cheaters and hackers, unablanced PVP and they RAISE the tier of tanks you fight when you team up with friends. Using a battle rating 1.3 tank (max 1.7) with a friend who also has a 1.3 and a max of 1.7 we were being pitted against 3.7 and 4.3 BR tanks. we physically could not penetrate the armor of ANY of the enemy tanks and they could kill us with just machine gun rounds... how the hell is that fair?

EDIT: I can now confirm that War Thunder slowly creeps up the level of people you fight against once you begin to do good. I have a MAXIMUM battle rating of 2.3 across ALL of my vehicles, and just went up against a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 6.7. HOW THE HELL IS THAT FAIR? the ENTIRE enemy team was between 5.0 and 7.0, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO AGAINST THAT WITH MY LITTLE F-ING SPITBALL LAUNCHER? I PHYSICALLY CANNOT PENETRATE THEIR ARMOR WHILE THEY CAN ---LITERALLY--- RUN ME OVER AND KILL ME ( which is EASY because my maximum speed is like 20 while they are cruising around at 60+)

This game is still in early access, I don't care what the developers say. The game is riddled with progression-halting bugs, graphical and IA glitches, and tends to crash if you look at your computer wrong.

I don't mind a buggy game, but these bugs are absolutely infuriating, including (but not limited to) the following:

- bodies falling through the floor (including your own)
- spontaneous deaths
- invincible enemies
- thralls not responding to enemies
- archer thralls damage not increasing if you give them better arrows
- teleporting creatures and NPCs
- healing items not working if you use them too quickly
- healthbar showing damage when you are at full health
- healthbar not showing damage sometimes, leading to "Conan Sudden Death Syndrome"
- not being able to build on existing structures sometimes unless you destroy the wall below where you want to place your new block. You can place the wall back afterwards, so it isn't a block colliding issue, it just won't let you snap the new block in to place unless you destroy the wall underneath it as previously stated
- frequent freezing for the first 30-60 seconds after you log into a server
- flying tigers
- missing textures
- textures sometimes refusing to load in
- increasing the durability of tools doesn't increase the durability of tools (it only applies to weapons)

and last but not least...

- graphics driver crashes causing corrupted save games, which cannot be overwritten, requiring a FULL REINSTALLATION OF THE GAME

I cannot recommend this game to anybody in it's current state. This feels like an early beta, not a full release.

every update tanks the performance just a little bit more while simultaneously introducing more and more bugs to the already massive list, not that they ever actually fix any of them... how long did it take them to fix langing gear not attachign to the ground when on a planet? oh... what is that? they still haven't fixed it after almost 2 years? huh!

on top of that, they refuse to support linux in any way. I know that isn't a deal breaker for most, but I run servers for a living, and if I can squeeze 10% extra performance out of my servers to run this bloated game by running linux for my servers, that would be awesome. Out of the hundreds of servers I run, this is the only game I will absolutely not touch. Minecraft gets a 15-20% performance bonus under linux, Unturned gets 10-ish%, 7 days to die gets a WHOPPING 20-25% performance increase...

This game is hard enough to run just as a game, the rewuirements for running a server are insane when compared to the requirements of most other multiplayer servers.

I paid $60 for this game to play with my friends, then after more then a FULL YEAR of owning it, out of nowhere it suddenly tells me that my "trial period" had ended, and they are forcing me to pay ANOTHER $30 for DLC just to keep playing? oh HELL no! thats bull! I shouldn't be FORCED to pay for DLC just to keep playing the game I payed full price for!
