One of my Favorite Expansion packs in general. Instead of playing as Gordon Freeman in Half-Life 1 or Barney Calhoun the Security Guard in Blue Shift...

You play as an Hazardous Environment Combat Unit Soldier known as Adrian Shepard, one of the enemies in Half-life 1 and Blue Shifts who you know get play as...

Opposing force replaces some of the weapons in Half-Life 1 ( You can still find & use them in Multiplayer mode or by using Cheats. )

The Crowbar is replaced by a Pipe Wrench.
Which is slower, but is much more powerful and has a charge up attack which can deal even more damage.

And the Revolver is replaced by an Desert Eagle. With an Laser Sight and fires slightly more faster than the Revolver .

And the Sniper Rifle replaces the Crossbow and the Hive hand is replaced by the more useful Shock roach along with Tau Cannon and Gluon gun not appearing but replaced by the more deadly and powerful Displacer Cannon, which is this Expansion's BFG...

You also fight new enemies in this Expansion with Black Ops Assassins replacing the HECU Grunts from HL1 & Blue Shift since you're playing as an HECU Grunt. And the X-Race who are the toughest enemies who you will fight, and a new Headcrab Zombie known as the Gonomes who are tougher than regular zombies who can throw their guts at you as their ranged attack.

Along with new Allies such as some HECU Buddies such as the Engineer who can open welded doors and the Combat Medic who is a Portable Healing Station along with some HECU Grunts wielding an M249 SAW ( One of the new weapons that you can use. ) and a new Black Mesa Fat Security guard known as Otis who uses an Desert Eagle instead of an 9mm Pistol.

Long Story short, you're playing as an HECU Grunt to clean up the Black Mesa incident, and things don't go to well and you're forced to fight the Black Ops and you have encountered a new Alien Race known as Race-X but you encounter your HECU Buddies and knowing that they are left behind and forced to fight the Black Ops and the Xen Aliens along with the after mentioned Race-X, you will find a lot of action in this Expansion Pack with some intense action in some chapters. But i'm leaving the important bits out of here.

I have one complain though. Compared to the CD Retail version, the Menu Screen is less cooler compared to the Animated Title with Soldiers marching in the Opposing Force Title with Helicopters flying and Tanks moving to the Right.
What we got is Adrian Shepard and Gordon Freeman holding Flags for the CTF Mode which i don't play ( Since play Half-Life mostly for it's Single Player Campaigns. )

However that doesn't hurt what this Expansion Pack brings into Half-Life 1 for it's content. You got New Weapons to play with, New Enemies and Aliens to fight along with new Allies that will help you and a enjoyable single-player Campaign...

Also this Expansion pack introduces Rope Climbing which wasn't used in future Half-Life games or any other games made by Valve or Gearbox software... And also a Barnacle that you can use as an Weapon which is Opposing force's grappling hook.

This Expansion Pack is more like an Level Pack more instead...

Sadly Blue Shift doesn't throw in New Weapons for you to use or even New Enemies and Aliens to fight unlike in Opposing Force...

And some weapons from Half-Life 1 such as the Tau Cannon or even the Crossbow doesn't appear at all unless using console cheats to spawn one in...

However i still recommend this game if you want play more Half-Life for that itch if you're an Half-Life Fan or at least the GoldSrc Games... And if you have Half-Life 1 and all of it's Expansions, go in this Order...

Half-Life 1 -> Blue Shift -> Opposing Force.

The Armor System where you have to pick up Body Armor & Helmets from Dead Security Guards or from Armories and Lockers is actually a neat mechanic and a clever idea that i like from Blue Shift since you're playing as Barney instead of someone in a HEV Suit...

Early Access Review
For those who like watch conveyor belts carrying your steel and watching your maching mining that coal and just standing watching while expanding your machines to be automated.

Then this game is for you, if you like being lazy and watching those machines doing your dirty work in mining and clearing forests!

I was having hopes for this game, but releasing it unfinished with broken promises in this state...

I don't know how to blame either radiant or riot games for this...

While beter than Towns or Timber & Stone's debacle. Do no buy this game, unless they prove it with updates and returning the ninjas, pirates and politicians along with the dwarven kingdom, i will change this review into a Positive one...

Well looking at my steam library i have terraria and i have minecraft on my desktop.

I love both of them.

Look i put 441 Hours in Terraria running around in a creeper costume with a clockwork assault rifle with exploding bullets.

Now im in hardcore mode with a new fresh character. i have a hard time with this in that mode.

I perfer being grounded rather than flying with wings ( yes i have made a challenge on my own. No wings )

I love this game and may play this latter on. i reccomend getting this if you like building things and going on an adventure.

I give this game The "SANDBOX SIDE PLATFORMER BUILDING ADVENTURE GAME" Award in my list

Also go play minecraft too. they are both good for the family :)

After Playing Fallout 3 and New Vegas in the PS3 in 2009 and 2012 I bought Fallout 3 and New Vegas in Steam and Played and Toyed with Mods.

Its time to go to your Roots and then Fallout 1 and 2 Just popped out in Steam! as i really wanted to try them out and play them.

I Tell you what... They Where Great! and Fun. And The Story of Both games were Great!
And i Completed Both games. I Played Fallout 1 Two Times with a Normal Character & Second a Low Int Character and finished it two times.

But why im i Looking at Fallout 2 instead of Fallout 1? Because at the Start at level 2 your greeted with Golden Geckos who are worse in this game and Slavers with 10mm SMGs Already? i just got my Leather armor and then Raiders with Hunting Rifles and Combat knives that take too much hits? i just only have my 10mm pistol with me and my trusty Sledgehammer. Before i dumped them for the Legendary Bozar and Gauss Rifle.

This Fallout game is much harder than Fallout 1 and New Vegas in the series. i even finished this game without the Restoration patch Too!

STORY:
You are Choosen One the grandson/daughter of the Vault Dweller of the first game. But now your just downgraded into a Tribal and your sent into a Quest to save your Tribe and find the Holy G.E.C.K. Yes the Garden of Eden Creation Kit you know that. And you must find the Vault where the Vault Dweller just lived. No Spoilers unless you like spoiling movies and good plots using the internet.

This game introduces us the Enclave who are actually not a Joke in this game. Gatling Lasers, Pulse Pistols and Miniguns and not to mention thier Power Armor makes them walking tanks. Unlike in Fallout 3 where i can Circle them around with my Ripper and my Shotgun Laser Rifle where there just weak in those so-called Mk 2 Armor.

This Fallout game is Zany Wacky for this for example. A City of Sin full of Lust with Mafia Familes? Alien Xenomorphs? A Vault City? Talking Deathclaws?
The Fallout series was known for werid science and a mix of America in the 40s but this Fallout game is just... werid at its best.

GAMEPLAY:
This game is a CRPG And Turnbased game. You do side-quests and do the main story. but must hurry your Tribe needs you and don't forget that your the Choosen One. But are you really a Chosen one that will save his Tribe or a Chosen ******* who just joined the Slavers and kills kids. Yes you can kill kids in this game.

This game introduces us the Reputation and Karma in this Game. A Town will love you for Helping them and A Group that will hate you and will attack you in sight.

The Weapons in this game are improved from Fallout 1's into a selection of variety and taste.
Small Guns you Got FN-FALs . A City-killer Shotguns. Pancor Jackhammer. G11 Assault Rifle (Take that Black ops) and the Powerful Gauss Pistol and Rifle (Which are not Energy Weapons)

Big Guns you get the Flambe Flamer. A Rocket launcher. Miniguns. A Rare M60. And of Course the Allmighty Bozar!

Energry Weapons gets the Wattz Laser pistols and Rifles. The P94 Plasma Rifle (Which was Nerfed Boo!) And the Pulse Rifle and Pistol which are Powerfull even when not fighting Robots with them!

Melee and Unarmed gets a Spear which you start with. Sledge hammers and BeatCo Powerfist and the Supersledge but your Powerful weapons is... Your Bare hands

Honorable mentions goes to Throwing like Grenades and Spears but you don't need it really.
I Forgot to Mention that this game has Real-World Weapons in this Like the P90 and the Pancor Jackhammer like i just said?

You also get a Car in a Quest and Get a Real Working Car to Drive around the World Map!

MUSIC:
Made by Mark Morgan and made a great soundtrack for the series and his works too. Sorry Inon Zur but Mark Morgan takes the Crown in the Series.

Just listen to Vault City and Modac even Reddings Theme when you visit the Place. Compare it to many other Music you hear in any Video game Soundtrack even Fallout 3s. Don't forget the Car Theme!

LAST NOTES:
This Game Is of course is Fun just like Fallout 1. But it was Difficult even with the Restoration Patch. Even when i got the Advanced Power Armor. The game will throw in Tough Deathclaws and Enclave packing with Gauss Rifles just to salt the wound of your Main Character you just named. But i didn't give up and i completed the game painfully. i smilled at the end seeing the ending slides read by Ron Pearlman. And thats was not with the Restoration Patch! After i crawled and thrown in at a pacific ocean after playing in the kiddie pool. i have to do it without any guidance execpt the walkthroughs i read and guide at the end of the game

However this game did not sell very well unlike Fallout 1 and was Outselled by Fallout 3. Even some Classic Fallout Fans did not like the game and Hated every bit of it. But it was a Amazing Intense Rollercoaster ride i had and you should try out the Unoffical Restoration Patch that fixes very bit of the Game and Adds Cut Weapons and Elements and Made the ugly parts look beautiful. Even a New Location that was Scraped out of the Game!

I Even made a Second Playthorugh as a Dumb Character in the Patch. but i did not complete it yet but i will return to my dumb Choosen one. and will see.

-Because War. War never Changes.

-*** Me know what *** is. Me Not Dummy. Me Just Joking with you -A Choosen One with Stupid Spirits

THIS REVIEW IS FROM THE PS3 VERSION OF NEW VEGAS INCULDING THE PC with MODS BUT THIS IS MOSTLY VANILLA & DLC Expect a Text Wall.

When played Fallout 3 GOTY for the second time and completing it my Dad gave me New Vegas but not the ulltimate edition because the dlcs where not released yet. Playing in my First time and playthrough i hated the game at first.

But giving it a second chance and a new playthrough i had a change of hearts. and i how i hated at first then started to love at second
for being a true sequel to FO1 And 2 Welcome to New Vegas
Made by Obsidian including former Black isle member for making this amazing game.

New Vegas is a Beautiful place in the inside with a few casinos opperating. until you find that all the glitter is made of broken dreams as one the casinos are ran by cannibals and mobster and the one that shot you . But outside of Vegas you will only find Raiders and people with small hopes struggling to survive in the desert.

This is the Mojave Wasteland.

New vegas throws back classical creatures and items from the older fallouts such as the Geckoes that look really cute.
And the P94 Plasma Rifle and the G86 Plasma pistol. The Bozar made it's Return as a DLC but not like the one In FO2 and a big disapointment to fans of the Bozar.

But most importantly the NCR. New California Republic also known as the Bear. Expect the President of FO2 Tandi died of old age. and was replaced with Kimball who is not as good as Tandi.

There are Three major Factions of wants to rule over the Mojave Wasteland
The NCR As mentioned. Mr House who rules vegas for many years.

and last the hated stupid please do not join them the Legion ruled by a man by the name of Kai-sar.

But you don't Like them. You can join Yes man! Whoops forgot the spoiler tag!

you see my achievements that i joined the Legion but thats my fourth playthrough with mods when i bought it for PC.
My First Playthrough was Wild card. Second no DLCs Wildcard. Third With UE And still in PS3... Wild Card.

Fourth Playthrough was PC and i joined the Legion as i wanted something different but my brother forced me to join them and i hated it and went for the worse ending as possible. Unless you like seeing Arcade being the legion's slave and Boone shot dead you sick monster.

Story
You where shot in the head and left for dead. But somehow survived and saved by a local nearby town. the bullet in the head made you loose some of your memories and how you got here or where were you born from.

With The NCR And Legion fighting each other. Bear and Bull. Everything went silent for while. after the battle of the Hoover dam.

Find the man who shot you and choose who will you serve for the better place for Vegas or for worse . And Oh my gosh do not join the freaking Legion i will hunt you down with a Super sledge and my Spiked Knucles and i will feed you to the hungry giant rats or coyotes nearby!

Quests

There much more quests than in Fallout 3 and more Options yay! You can save the town from raiders that just saved you or join the Raider to thrash the town! but joining the other side will lock that and fail that. So choose wisely the Goodie Thumb up side of being Hero or a total jerk who steals nuka colas at gun point and kicks puppies for evil lulz

The main quest has a multiple paths as i said about 3 factions including Wild Card (Yes Man). will be more quests to work with. meeting new communites and making friends or Exterminating them from the wasteland its so much fun!

Companions dersve to get mentioned here as they have thier own backstories and past and there all good and well writen.
Also they a quest too to personally upgrade them. And they are improved than the ones in Fallout 3 and 2 by mechanics.
they Also give you a free perk if they are in your party. Examples will be ED-E Who is my favorite and most useful companion and Rex who keeps stealing my kills. (Sadly no Dogmeat who was a beloved loyal video game dog in history. Unless you made a mod returning him)

The Story as much better than fallout 3 and the lore was great along with the backstories told from each place and person it was not surprising since it was written by original fallout creators.

Gameplay

Weapons First. There is a Large selection of weapons. Small guns and Big guns merged into Well Guns. (9mm to 10mm to .45 then .44 and then a powerful .50 MG Anti material rifle)

Melee and unarmed is much more powerful and deadly (Lead pipes to a Super sledge and Spiked knuckles to a Ballistic fist)

Oh i forgot about Energy weapons and Explosives they are nice for creating fancy lights and Michael bay mushroom clouds. Energy weapons are deadly with the right perks they are deadly as ashes to ashes.

Explosives are introduced by 40mm and 25mm Grenade rounds with Grenade rifle a get go and the 25mm APW which is Great for Crowd control!

Also they have Weapon Modifications such as Extended Magazines and Suppressors not to be confused with Mods
don't forget different ammo types such as Armor piercing and Hollow point and Explosive .50 Rounds which is totally awsome!

Combat is bit of improved with iron sights and higher damaging weapons
and also you might want to avoid deathclaws as they deadlier than ther FO3 Counter parts you might want to use a stealth boy and a sniper rifle with an suppressor loaded with AP Or HP Rounds and some satchel charges and a good sneak skill to not be a Deathclaw mother's food for her children.

And oh don't forget cazadores which poison ya without antivenom your pretty much dead without it. but they are not a problem to me unlike other people

VATS Is improved and doesn't make you invulnerable. I don't use it that much but Melee weapon user and unarmed get Special VATS Attacks which are useful to use. But can execute some of them outside of VATS.

Also unarmed gets new techniques learned for wandering around the wastes which are useful like the Ranger Takedown and the Scribe Counter.

Also Stimpaks get Super Stimpaks but you can't go Assassin with Super Stimpaks sadly. Also doctors bags are great for fixing your broken limbs from accidentaly stepping on land mines. and theres a Fixer if you get accidentaly addicted to chems.

Traits are good as they give you benefits and drawbacks. Reputation is important to keep up but don't get Vilified by the NCR Or Legion their Hit squads and Assassins are a pain to fight.

DLC

There good while Old world blue is the best you might want to all of them and skip Dead money okay?

Courier's stash gives you good starting weapons.
Gun Runner's Arsenal adds unique weapons that are sold by merchants and customizable weapons with the word GRA
And Four episodic DLCs

Overall Old World Blues is the best of them. Dead money you might want to skip but keep for its useful perks and lvl cap
GRA Also adds new challenges if you want Quick XP or Achievements.

My final notes
Overall this game improves what Fallout 3 Does just like Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 does for using the same engine.
Kind of buggy but you can fix that in the PC with unoffical patches and despite the bugs it is the Best RPG
And oh don't forget mods and play Project Nevada you won't Regret it along with Weapon Mods Expanded you won't regret it.

My Score 8.1/10 PS3 - 9.2/10 PC

-Call me a profligate or NCR Fanboy all you want Legion fans i don't care i work for Yes man.
-The Assault carbine isn't Terrible its underlooked and it's my CAR of Vegas thanx :)

THIS REVIEW IS FROM THE PS3 Version of FALLOUT 3 including PC With Mods. BUT MOSLY THE PS3 VERSION
Fallout 3 Was my first fallout game and introduction into the universe of Fallout and being better than oblivion and skyrim in my opinion.

But. is it a fun game? Well yes and a bit of no but mostly yes. Fallout 3 throws you in to ruined and long gone united states of America in the D.C Ruins also known as Capital wasteland. Emerged from your safe underground shelters known as Vaults. after many years the wasteland became a much harsher place to live in. such danger like bloodthirsty raiders. Mutants created from the radiation from the nuclear bombs. and mostly most feared beast in the wastes, the Deathclaws. (but not really)

After being raised in your vault. your father left the vault door open only to purse his dream for the wasteland. and only to escape the corrupt vault overseer and the vault security force to find your father in the cruel and harsh wasteland and to be togther again (yes thats the story in a nutshell)

But now to Gameplay
This is an FPS RPG Game. Well if you shoot things you get XP. Level up and get a Perk. Set your skills to max your pretty much a Jack of all trades (with some expections).
Shooting things like raiders and radscorpions is kind of a hit and miss (Thanks to Ghoul reavers and Albino Radscorpions and Overlords) but you got this mechanic known as VATS. Pretty much a cheat as your in VATS Mode your pretty much invincible for a while with a slow cutscene of you shooting the raider in the eye and being unskipable and slow.

I don't use VATS Alot unlike in New vegas as an Unarmed Player given with Special VATS Attacks. I mostly use VATS As my enemy detector and my finisher move. but i mostly play real time combat without VATS.

You got your Small guns (SMGs, Pistols, Rifles and shotgusn) Big guns like the Flamer and the minigun and then the Energy weapons (Laser rifles, Plasma rifles and then the Gauss rifle)

You also got melee weapons too including unarmed but don't forget Michael bay Explosives

but it lacks a large Weapon rooster from FO2 and a bit from FO:Tactics (The FO1 Plasma Rifle made its way in Vegas As the Plasma Caster including the Plasma Pistol as the Plasma Defender)
But the Unique versions of each weapon make up for it as such as a laser rifle shotgun combination being my favorite

but your here exploration then this game is for you! lots of loot and treasures to be found! going to a deathclaw infested place is rewarding giving you uniques but be sure to bring lots frag mines with you or atleast a dart gun and a sniper rifle.

Some quests including the main quest and the dlcs are a hit and miss.
As such the vampire attacking a small town in a highway being my least favorite. (yes litterly vampires)
Fallout is known for good and evil and very very evil and heartwarming tearjerking good decisions but i mostly play as a neutral karma mercenary

who stays in the middle in the see-saw listening to his shoulder angels like from that movie and cartoon.
I Mean that lady in a house who accuses you for working for someguy named moriarty i mean oh my gosh what im i supposed to say if im talking like a jerk which is out of place for my character and no option to say *Nevermind im out of here -leave* rather than going the good thing or just killing her for evil lulz

Characters are good and mixed. Three dog being the likeable and talking about you (for some reason for one person unlike the tale of the vault dweller or the choosen one) Moria being cheerful and okay.
Some characters being evil and make you want to punch them with your power fist. but you can't kill one of these guys except Three dog and Moria being killable.

The Main story characters and Rivet city are infamous for this i mean you can melt anyone to goo unlike in FO1&2 and Tactics Heck even in New Vegas. Look at Skyrims NPCs You can't kill one of these guys for some silly quest runing away from guards. Thats not right. i would rather go for the wild card path in New Vegas instead.

Theres a Karma system in this game. i mostly play Neutral Karama just give free water to some water beggars and make your decision for the more rewarding in a quest. But i don't play as a total jerk as i play as a mercenary looking for caps.

What is missing is the Traits and the Reputation system but that returned in New vegas and i hope it does in Fallout 4 along with low intelligence dialouge which is unlikely since i loved that in FO1 And 2.

Fallout 3 is a fun game to explore around like saving that kid from fire breathing ants. and shooting slavers in paradise falls freeing the kids and shooting the slaver leader and then shooting some scavengers and wastelands for evil lulz.

but it has it's flaws around in circules. the game gets easy even in normal settings and playing very hard turns some of the enemys into bullet sponges from my chinese assault rifle and even its unique counter part. Some of the parts of the game will run slow and freeze or crash. Bugs like that ghoul reaver glitch turning into a mini super deathclaw twitching around like those dead space's twitchers nercomorphs expect takes alot of shots from a gauss rifle to take down in very hard.
it has a bit of a Lackluster combat and VATS for being a silly mechanic.

I Would recomend you to play this with mods as such as Wanderer's Edition and some Fallout Classic weapons or some Overhaul. But Fallout 3 in PC Is Not optmized for Windows 7 but i use Win7 Home Premium and some workaround you can find in the guides but if your using Windows 8 or higher you might have problems with little to no ends.

Fallout 3 was a Fun game but when i played New vegas & then Fallout 1 and 2 and then Wasteland 2. Its still a okay game.

I give it a 7.8/10
loved it when i got my hands in GOTY For the PS3 But as i said. Its what brought me as a fallout fan.
