Don't read the achievement descriptions. They spoil the story.

Early Access Review
Although I enjoy Boundless and am very excited for its release, I cannot completely recommend this game. The main reason being the recent inclusion of microtransactions and the paid membership service "Gleam Club." These are not something that should be included in a paid game (Especially not one of 30$+). I understand that MMO's are known for membership services to keep the game running. However, those are games that are usually free to play and are one of the few ways for the devs to make a profit. This is NOT a free to play game. People are paying to play this and should be getting a full experience for that money spent. I am fine with having a deluxe edition to support the devs, but the use of microtransactions in a game of this price is not acceptable.

The microtransactions and membership service seems to me like a slap in the face of players who have already bought the game or plan to buy it. As such, I can't completely recommend buying this game as long as these exist.

Although that is mostly just my rant, I want players to consider this before they buy. It is still possible to get everything in the game but players who are spending more money will have advantages in this game (such as not requiring fuel for their structures).

The game is still fun but will require you to play without taking large breaks. If your beacon runs out of fuel, all your structures within that beacon will start to desintegrate. This means that if you take a break for a month and are not paying for Gleam Club, you will have to deal with having all of your structures being gone upon your return.

If you are able to overlook these, the game itself is entertaining so go ahead and give it a try.

Don't listen to the recent negative reviews! They are mostly backers that are irritated that the devs did not have everything that they said some 5+ years ago on kickstarter. I was not a kickstarter backer(so I am not aware of what those initial promises were). I have followed the game for a few years now though (not aware of the exact number but I would estimate around three years). Although I don't know what the initial promises were, I have seen a lot of progress made in the few years I have followed it. This last year had many patches and added content (I'm not going to get into specifics) before the full release just the other day. The game is voxel based with little characters that you use to slowly build up a settlement. I would recomend it for anyone who enjoys anything sandbox related or just wants to make a city.

I would be greatly excited to see the devs add onto this but I am fully satisfied and believe I have gotten my money's worth from what is currently available. I highly recommend this to anyone willing to try it.

This is an amazing game that uses blocks and events to build games within the game. I started playing about eight years ago and probably had over 1000 hours before the game hit steam. One of the things that upset me about the game was that RTB (return to blockland) was shut down.

Return to blockland was an ingame overlay type system (similar to steam). It had a large add-on (mod) system that would allow you to download any add on you liked without having to leave the game. It basically served in the same way the workshop works in garry's mod.

With the shut down, blockland gradually declined. There is a great community still in the game but, you would find it difficult to find a time when there are 100+ players on the servers.

However, someone made an RTB replacement named Blockland Glass. The system has most of the features of RTB (and some RTB did not) and contains an RTB archive of all those add ons that can no longer be found on the blockland forums.

The game is pretty old at this point being around 10 years, but that means that it can run on some very old computers. Because of this, the game is great for playing with friend sas even friends with near aweful computers will be able to run it smoothly (with shaders off).

On top of that, the game does not require port forwarding to host an online server. This means that you and your friends can host and build your own online server for free (if you and them have the game).

the game is 10$ and often drops to 5 or below often during steam sales. I originally bought the game for 20$ and have gotten more than an amazing experience in return.

I apologize for any spelling errors. My spelling is not the best.

It's an enjoyable game with a 2D sandbox playstyle similar to that of Terraria. The key difference is that now you are in outer space, can travel between planets, have a storyline, have workshop content, and mechs.

What more could you ask for?
