I put about 10 hours into it and reached a point where I cannot progress any further because the game crashes after the cutscene. This forces me to repeat the entire mission each time.

Definitely the quality I'd expect from a full priced game. Pick this up if you like paying $60 for a game that you can't beat due to unpatched bugs.

I honestly liked this game, but I simply cannot recommend it. Not in the state that it is in.

If you make the mistake of purchasing this game, by all means avoid talking to other players at all costs. The moderators in this game abuse their power and will ban you for no reason. A cursory glance at the forum page will show that quote: "The game has no ESRB rating or similar yet, but we consider it "rated R" for adult situations, language, drug and alcohol use. There will never be dramatic blood, gore, or (particularly sexy) nudity, however." The NPC's swear and the players swear. I swear too, so I'm totally fine with this. However, I logged on today to meet a 30 day ban because of swearing. In reality, I had a discussion with a player moderator the night before and they disagreed with me. So they had me banned for swearing.

I emailed the support team and heard nothing back. I attempted to refund the game and got turned down because I put 8 hours into it (at the time of writing this). So I'm stuck in purgatory at this point. I wasted 40 dollars on this garbage game with glitchy textures, drawn out boring grindy gameplay, and a toxic playerbase. I hope this review reaches someone and saves them from making the same mistake I did and blowing money on this trash. But who am I kidding, the player mods will probably delete this review as well since it's negative.

Do yourselves a favor and just flush your 40 dollars down a toilet or bury it somewhere. At least it will end up in a better place. This game is never going to improve so long as the devs continue to allow moderators abuse their power. The community is barely peaked 650 players in early 2018 and hasn't seen numbers close to that ever since. There's about 250 players on average. For an MMO that's pathetic. And I honestly don't blame the playerbase. If WoW banned players from the power hunger of mods, it's population would crash just as heavily. I don't see this game making it. In the end, it'll be the sad party of 10 or so dedicated fans who ban everybody else that don't take the game as seriously as they do.

Update: received an email from the support that said my appeal was denied because vulgar language (which most of the NPCs do) and harassment (which the player mod was doing) are against the rules. Go figure. This game and it's dev team are a complete joke.

Update #2: Just wanted to add this cherry to the trash sundae as well: They are still doing wipes. When the game releases officially (post-beta), you'll keep your levels but all the items you obtained will be LOST. If you lost all of your stuff on FF14, WoW, Runescape, Guild Wars, or ESO after a few months of playing, would you still play? Most people play MMO's to see progress and feel a sense of accomplishment. But how is that possible when that gets taken away?

if the song is longer than like 50 seconds you might as well not even bother. It never loads. The dev hasn't done anything about it either. Don't waste your money.

great gameplay but absolutely toxic community. The captains are all know it all tryhards that think they are god tier because they are good at this video game.

Get review bombed into a "Game Over" screen even using a guide.

Was just letting the negative influx die down some before posting this. Epic games ruins everything it touches. These devs are complete worthless sellouts.

This game is like literally every other game in the pack and goes as follows:

1) Install the game

2) Boot up a broken menu to select campaign or survival

3) Select a unity asset gun that is pasted to a tree and shoot waves of unity asset animals that charge at you

4) Kill 3 or 4 of them and get literally 4000 achievements

5) Uninstall the game 15 minutes later after you've unlocked all the achievements and move onto the next game

6) Rinse and repeat

Good combat gameplay; but garbage loot, garbage AI, garbage connectivity, dead playerbase, and game-breaking flaws.

I've already had several experiences where I get to the very end of a level then get knocked off at the last second and have no option but to die and have to replay the entire level over again.

The AI usually idly stands by while you do any of the actual mission content like destroying chains or turning wheels. None of them actually contribute to the story. If you want that experience, you'll need real players. And good luck finding one that will stick through to the end of the mission. If another player hosts, you'll never finish the game in your lifetime. If the host leaves, the mission's over.

The chests are often literally empty so I'm not sure why they're even in the game. Your loot rarity depends on the difficulty. But even on normal difficulty I usually get the same loot that I already have or items that are worse than my current item.

I feel no progression despite actually leveling up. Save your money and just buy the second game in this series.
