issues with multi-monitors (cursor vanishes and locks onto your character, wont even let you use menu). google shows its been reported repeatedly for years but is still occurring for me even after trying fixes.

also, no shift to stop moving like in every other arpg in the history of the world.

dunno how good the rest of the game is but its not playable for me so, cant recommend.

quite good idle game with several months of content currently with new patches all the time. plenty of mini-game/long term projects and upgrades and such like other good examples of the modern genre (such as farmers against potatoes).

just keep in mind its an IDLE game, some people seem to miss this somehow, but its something you will play daily for months, either letting it run on a 2nd monitor or checking it multiple times throughout a day. its NOT something you should expect to play super actively...unless you are weird like me and enjoy fiddling with idle games all the time =p

lastly, there are some arguments that this is a pay to win game. it is not. there are things to buy in game with real money, they are quite expensive and not designed to be needed for regular people to play. they DO help you progress a little faster but this game absolutely showers you with the currency used (antimatter). after ~2 months of play ive generated around 250k antimatter totally for free, i could spend a couple hundred bucks to do the same for money but there is no need AT ALL. buy a pack or 2 to support the dev if you like the game or want to whale.

the best example of this style of game ive played over the years, tons of content with lots of unlockable things and customization.

multiple characters and maps and difficulties, and tons of weapons/skills and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of modifications to alter all parts of the weapons and characters. further customization on top of that with talents and equipment with its own crafting system as well as a progression system built in to slowly unlock.

a campaign style playthrough mode with a bunch of challenge and a time survival mode to play through as well. truly a standout in the genre, and all of this for a tiny amount of money and a guy who works his butt off to give more updates all the time. a+

this is one of those quite good idle games that is worth your time if you really wanna sink your teeth in to something.

plenty of stuff to do, good sense of progression, knowledge of mechanics is important as well as learnable, events happen now and then to give some nice free stuff, no need to pay for anything ever (you make more free souls, the premium currency, per month than any sane person would ever buy....tho there are a few crazy people out there.)

updates are common including massive ones, bugs are squashed quickly, community is pretty good and there are tools to help people that want them. also, it will be leaving early access in one of the future updates.

~~over time the game had grown gradually worse with an ever lengthening grind that just felt bad. the community spoke out a few times but nothing changed until we came together for a mass review bomb.~~

~~this time however it worked and the devs put together a pretty solid update for their game hitting MANY topics that will make this game more enjoyable to play for years to come. i am legitimately impressed with their upcoming changes.~~

cancel everything said before. i dont understand them at all.

As soon as they got near the end of their long list of improvements they immediately started making things worse again multiple patches in a row. I legit dont understand what they are thinking.

they had so much positive feedback for the first time in a long time and they immediately turn around and make things worse multiple times getting the community pissed off again -_-

Tried hard to like it, but its just so buggy and every patch makes things worse. multiplayer and single player both have a ton of issues. balance is trash, drop rates are totally broken, patches are SUPER SLOW, nerfs are the only thing they do meaning all the modes/playstyles/builds that could be good never will be.

i really want to like the game, but it needed more work, a dev team that gave a ♥♥♥♥ about the players, and an understanding of what makes games fun to play rather than just sell the product and balance things around trying to keep them playing for 1k hours by making everything suck vs make you feel awesome.

25k+ total hours(standalone client) over 12 years and while the times were often very very good the developers have taken the game in directions i just cannot support.

they make things worse often then panic and reverse some changes while the devs repeatedly say (many times over the years) that they dont play the game and have no idea what any given topic is actually like.

back in 2018 the creators sold their game to tencent and said nothing would change and that they still had control but it feels like it slowly went down hill from there, with still plenty of good times but trending in a bad direction where they continually made the grind worse.

the communication over the years has also gotten much much worse, the company used to be very open and talked to the community all the time back in 2010-2016 but as the player base grew and the game got more frustrating players and developers started to spiral into a toxic relationship with angry fans lashing out and lies and PR style responses from the developers.

overall, i still think people *can* have fun with the game but i dont think its that easy anymore nor do i think the developers care about the players much anymore.

its fine for playing a few matches, but the lag comes early in larger maps, ive got an 8 core cpu, titan gpu and 64gb of ram and by turn 200 its noticable on large maps, by 300 its grab a book to wait between turns.

Not a bad game as long as you play quick small matches and are not looking for as much depth as civ. worth maybe 10 bucks. i wont be playing anymore matches, not worth the time.
