I love this game.
It's like a raid simulator, but also a shmup.
Try the demo and decide based on that. The full game got 5 more stages.

One of the best Soulslikes out there. Very open and interconnected, too.

The start seems a bit too simple for me, but it does pick up in complexity. I had hoped, it would be more like a pure puzzle game (somewhat like Patrick's Parabox maybe), but it's more of an adventure/exploration game with puzzles.
What bothers me is that the game won't let you experiment much. After solving a puzzle, you can't interact with the elements anymore, because they straight up dissolve or bridges and gates get closed. It feels a bit too guided for me because of this.
I'm not sure if it's too short, or if it's just right in length for what it is. The purple sphere wasn't utilized that much, especially in the end part of the game, which is kind of odd. It probably would have been more satisfying if it was used again
There are also boss fights for some reason, lol. Didn't expect that at all, but they're also just puzzles with a fail state.

The art and sound direction and the whole atmosphere of the game in general are absolutely phenomenal, though. Very very alien, with shapes, nobody could have ever imagined.

Overall pretty decent game.

Disclaimer: I was a betatester for this game and probably a bit biased because of that, I guess.

This is an actual NES game in under 40kbytes (that's the same limitations the original Super Mario Bros. had!). With those limitations it looks, sounds and plays amazing! You can even play it with 3 other friends, if you want to, which is quite fun. The multiplayer is comparable to games like Zelda: Four Swords Adventures. You can either help your friends or hinder them to reach more points than them.

Compared to other games for the NES, Micro Mages is more on the easier side, even in hard mode. The game is also not very long, but has a lot of replay-value, because of secrets, multiplayer and high-score hunts. Getting into speedrunning of the game is also quite accessible.

Clear recommendation, because of all the love, care and SOUL that went into this game.

Baba is You is basically Sokoban with MORE mechanics. I actually hate Sokoban to be honest, but Baba is You is the best puzzle game I've ever played, and I've played quite some puzzle games in my time.
There's a lot of deep and intelligently designed content in this game that challenges you in many different and always new ways. Most levels are very open and you can be quite creative with your solution.

The visual style is also very, very cute and saying all the dumb sounding phrases out loud, while you're thinking about a solution, is quite fun.

The only aspect of the game, that isn't 'perfect' in my opinion, is the music. While it is quite good music to think to, I wouldn't enjoy listening to it in my free time. Some 'cuter' music that matches the visuals would have been nicer, but it's alright.

A level editor is also being developed right now, which would provide infinite content once released, making this game almost perfect to be honest.

Back when I was like 12 years old, I downloaded this game called Jumper Two, a really really hard platformer by the main dev of Celeste. Celeste is basically Jumper 4. It's much more refined, but most of the basic mechanics are still there. The guy knows how to make good platformers, maybe even the best.
