As someone who played this game on Battle.net (since ~2018) before it came to Steam, the gameplay loop of shooting and using space magic to kill aliens is extremely fun, and the raids (6-man activity) and dungeons are generally very well done.

However, ever since Bungie introduced the seasonal model to the game, the game has slowly started to go downhill, and it is with a heavy heart as someone who really enjoyed the game a lot, that I cannot recommend the game to anyone who's new or planning to pick up the game again to play it.

With every new season, while the seasonal story ranges from mid to not too bad, the seasonal activity that's introduced every season gets stale very quickly, as you're expected to grind that for 1. the seasonal weapons, which generally range from bad to mid with some exceptions, and 2. to progress the seasonal story.

The core content, such as Strikes (PvE), Crucible (PvP) and Gambit (PvEvP) have been largely ignored and have received little to no updates, and last year's State of the Game even alluded to the team not working on Gambit much because of low player count, but why would it when it hasn't received a significant update since 2019?

There's a lot more that I could go on, but it's such a huge disappointment that Bungie's executives have stifled the growth of this game so much

TL;DR: I don't recommend the game, even as a long time fan of it
