Early Access Review
[480 hours in 4 years review incoming]

I keep editing my review for this game every time they do a major update. I bought in during Update 3 in early 2020, its now Update 8 in early 2024. And the very hyped 1.0 version will finally release sometime in 2024.

If factorio was crack, satisfactory is cocaine. I keep solidly recommending this game for 4 years straight. The devs have been transparent with the development every step of the way, they listen attentively to community feedback, have great gameplay implementations and seasonal events, and overall - the game is just vibes and chill. I play my save file with my brother a whole lot, so this game is extra special to me.

Gameplay wise, the progression is straightforward and you'll slowly expand your factories into more efficient setups. And then you'll connect those efficient setups with each other - just like any other factory automation game. The world is LARGE, there's 4 biomes and 21 areas. Resource nodes are infinite, so you won't have to redo your factories. There's no base invasion, so just chill out. If you wanna vibe, go build a factory. If you wanna break the vibe, go explore caves and fight the hostile fauna and meme around a bit. It is sandbox freedom that allows you to focus on whatever you happen to be enjoying the most at the time. The game is abundantly complex, and feels complete - despite it still being an early access. If Satisfactory told me that it gave me 1.0 release 2 years ago, I would've believed them.

If you respect your time, when you play this game - you'll lose all priorities. Trust me, I've been a degenerate for multiple occassions because of this game. I love it. The gameplay loop is pretty satisfactory. :D
