Good scenario with the Diadochi one having great replay value because you can pick different leaders and locations to start.

A great game with really interesting and fun ideas. A must play if you liked Civilization 5 & 6 (especially the more exciting exploration and pre-Industrial ages/technologies) and like the event system from Paradox games like Crusader Kings. I actually prefer this type of narrower historical scope and introducing the concept of different houses, families and inheritance, etc. You can also customize how you want to play the game: as a more straightforward 4X game, or a more event-based game with family issues, or something else entirely with mods.

Runs great on a PC built around 2019 and bugs are being addressed regularly. Patches and DLCs have been tuning things and introducing additional depth, events, and actions to perform. I believe this game will have a long shelf life, especially since the community is able to produce mods. Worth a buy for any ancient-era, strategy-inclined gamer.

A great strategy game that's still getting expansions 4 years on. Unless you're already a strategy master, this game will have excellent replayability with its maps and leaders. The AI is sometimes weak but it's still very enjoyable to play as you'll just compete against yourself with how efficient you can make your empire. The New Frontier Pass added new game modes so it has extended the game's life by many more hours.

A well-optimized FPS that's playable with regular mouse and keyboard or controller.
The gameplay is pretty solid and you can enjoy emergent co-op in the various locations. It does become grindy if you play daily. PvP is fantastic but limited to queued instances with a set number of players.

Game was a bit unstable for me and would crash every once in a while. Multiplayer is very hard to play since there aren't many people playing now anyways. This seemed like a good concept but it could have used a few more iterations.

Dota 2 is great for someone that wants to invest a lot of time into a game and never be bored by lack of challenge or things to learn. This game is very strategically deep and not something to play with split attention or when you're tired. The random people you play with have a good chance of being very hostile, very nice, or very quiet. They have since introduced new mutations of the regular map gameplay, and they also have seasonal events that introduce more fun vs serious moments.

In terms of software, the new client is highly optimized and runs smoothly on all computers that meet the recommended specifications. I haven't encountered any crashes or video card errors either. Dota 2 gets regular updates, so most bad bugs get fixed within a month or two.

My warning to you is this: If you like playing other games, then watch the amount of time you spend on Dota 2. Sometimes the drive to get better or spend money on cosmetic goods trumps your ability to juggle playing other games. And whatever you do, please do not become one of the hostile people that ruin the fun for everyone else.

A good third-person shooter with a good story campaign. Has an impressive shooting model where you can aim and pick apart all your robot enemies by shooting heads, appendages, etc. A lot of set piece boss fights to stay entertained with. Since this is a port, the mouse and keyboard controls are difficult at times (especially to be able to turn around by moving the mouse) but it's worth your time to work through it as the game is actually pretty entertaining. The story is a bit racist and stereotypical but... I guess it works?

Played on Windows 10 with Intel i7 3770 and an AMD 7900 GPU. No crashes, but there was an issue if you fail a section and you get the restart mission screen, no controls are taken so you have to manually kill the game with an ALT+F4 or kill the process in Task Manager.

A great game if you like: first-person melee, zombies, modding weapons with a simple crafting system, and completing quests in places like a ruined city, jungle, and beach resort.

The combat is particularly fun in that you can target different parts of an enemy's body and either cut or break it. When you do, the enemy will start to attack you differently: hitting you with their head or kicks if you've broken their arms. One problem I had is fast weapon switching. When you're getting swarmed and you want to switch to a longer weapon to keep things away, you have to use an awkward item wheel bound to your mouse middle buttom.

Besides that, this was a fantastic effort from Techland: graphics and sound are great, music is well done.

A short but very rewarding, well-paced "side scroller" zombie game.

> Graphics: Very interesting use of the Unreal Engine for a dark side scroller. Doesn't have that typicaly "shiny" sheen on the textures, and everything actually looks genuinely beautiful and well-crafted. Actually, almost everything except the zombies are very realistic; the backgrounds are amazing to look at. In between gameplay, there are illustrated graphic novel style cutscenes that almost look like concept art. Very well done.

> Audio: There are definitely a few haunting songs (title theme in particular) throughout the game and cutscenes. Sound design overall is excellent; Randall grumps, moans, and talks in time with cues, and sound effects are varied and not as repetitive as other XBLA games.

> Controls & Gameplay: My only real gripe with the game is the controls and how sluggish they feel sometimes. During chase scenes when you can't waste time jumping and waiting on animations to play it gets to you after having to redo things over and over. Some pain points: having to have some clearance to break into a sprint, climbing up/down a fence, jumping/dropping off a fence, and even jumping straight up after stopping from a run. As a gameplay hint though, it sometimes helps to wait for Randall's animation to play out and then act: if you want to jump straight up after running, you have to wait for him to stay still, if you want to jump off of a fence, you have to press the direction key away from the fence and wait for his animation to show him facing that direction before pressing jump. The controls aren't responsive otherwise.

Overall
Would recommend to people who like:
- zombies, but not as much in-you-face action > you don't have to kill everything that moves
- side scrolling platformers and those kinds of puzzles (i.e. moving blocks to climb on, hitting switches to raise platforms, etc.)
- a dark, digestable story with good music for 1 or 2 days worth of play (~3-4 hours to complete) > it helps if you read his diary and try to pick up the missing pages spread about

Highly recommended for fans of a good story, cinematic third-person shooters, and characters that have a comment about everything. There are frequent, long cutscenes (which you are allowed to skip by the way) that really drive the game forward, and it's incredibly well voice-acted. Max Payne was always a fantastic franchise and Rockstar Games has continued on the tradition of story excellence.
