Overall the Chromosome evil games are products of attention and love in my opinion, both games could be considered a bit odd in some aspects but they're incredibly fun, and have plenty of choices in game to help you decide where your challenges will lay in the game. As the game progresses you'll have both more and less to work with from my experience, but this is definitely in a good way that I enjoy

Amazing games in general, both this and one.

Pretty good game, always enjoy this Genre but I like the twist of being able to choose from and unlock different Captains(Heroes basically) and ships, the ship and captain you choose affect your game and strategy greatly, from a captain where every time my ship sends down a shuttle I get 10 basic soldiers, to even one that gives me access to hover tanks. Captains come with unique units and perks, where-as ships decide the size and how much support your ship can provide, along with a perk of their own. The largest ship can let you cover vast portions of the map with cannon fire from orbit, provided you have the energy.

Overall it's really fun, and I enjoy unlocking the various things in game. Hoping to see a lot more in the future from this.

While I do love the game, I'd have to restart an extreme amount of times due to dying as the first character and being softlocked.

Part of this issue is new enemies that were added and spawn in abundance, being tougher. Part of it is that you can't even produce some basic starter gear for free. Backpacks aren't common, and while I DON'T mind not being able to extract without valuable items, which how equipment is handled here compared to the Demo's it means that I can complete 2 missions, die on the third, and be forced into a restart depending on the rewards, and scavenged items from the 2.

Not to mention, part of the reason this is such an issue is the insane amount of enemies compared to Demo's and prologue. MY FIRST RUN, AND FIRST MISSION (After tutorial of course cause I figured I'd try in case anything changed from Demos) I got trapped in a slog against near 20-30 enemies in the hallway of the first level where they just would not stop coming, and it ended with my first death from the new Cyborg enemies which are tougher and stronger. Second run I opened a door and got one tapped by an enemy shooting a circular saw.

The game has a clear balancing issue with these new features and balance needs to be looked at and fixed in order for it to shine. I don't mind a difficult game but this game actually encourages (and sometimes forces through softlock) you to just toss any progress aside and restart from scratch. Which I don't think is the developers actual intent considering the game itself has dying, cloning, and such as core systems in it.

If the developers go through and fix these glaring issues it could shine

Edit: Devs have already begun patching and resolving these issues, including difficulty progression, and the issue with items. So many of the issues I bring up in this review are handled/being handled.

With this I definitely do recommend this game.

Been waiting for this for an age. It's great, and with the changes made for this version newer players and a larger audience can now experience FUN.

Connection and crash issues on a brand new modern computer even. Runs the game perfectly except once every 2 or 3 matches it'll freeze, suffer a massive connection issue/lag spike and kick half the fireteam, then freeze again and just crash the game. Sometimes the Music and Audio will bug, where Music and voice lines stop for five minutes then start again with ALL the music and voice that didn't play suddenly all coming out at once. Resulting in quite a loud/gibberish noise.

It's still fun as hell and a great 40k game, and I get maybe one or two rounds that are good for every buggy/♥♥♥♥♥ round aside from the noise issue. If they fix these issues I'd not have any real problems with the game aside from a few tiny design choices that overall do not impact how much I enjoy the game.

Having played this game when it's servers launched at around 8 AM today, I had an lot of fun. Though now we're seeing queues of people for some servers trying to get in that are over 22,000. I have no issue with it as I know it'll be fixed, a lot of these negative reviews are over the servers, when honestly I believe New World and Amazon simply were not expecting so many people for their first/flagship game release. Just need a tiny bit of patience.

Extremely fun game, hours of content and made for modding, this means theres basically hundreds to thousands of changes, or additions that can be added to make the game more interesting.
