I enjoyed this game from 2016 to 2023, the magazine mechanic is a neat change to game play but it's now the only way to play the game. You have to farm the trader for magazines, not a big deal right? Well it becomes an issue when your the one building and preparing the base in multiplayer. You will be left behind dramatically in combat or crafting because your stuck at home placing blocks. While your buddies collect magazines. But they can just bring you magazines right? Not if they have a different build that you. You need points in skill to get magazines for that skill. So if your buddy is and agility build and your a strength build he can't get your magazines while your stuck at home.
