Early Access Review
Honestly, this is a perfect show of what an "early access" game is. Something that very obviously isn't finished, has a ton more coming for it, yet is playable with what it already has and can be followed as it grows. So far there isn't much to it because it just released, but I have high hopes for where it goes since this is the flagship of this company.

Though if you don't like goofing around with harmless blocks, maybe wait for more updates

It's bethesda, if you want to be fed their gamer slop then go ahead. Just know what you're getting into

Do not buy, do not buy ark survival evolved, just don't touch this franchise. It is a buggy, low quality mess that is heavily overpriced and even requires you to buy dlc just to finish the story

Lethal company if it wasn't trying to inconvenience you at every turn. Gameplay actually focuses on the threats rather than avoiding them, making it immensely more enjoyable than lethal's "Grab loot and run!" loop

For the most part this game has quite a few problems that seem really unique to it, for one the game has a bizarre skill gap that you'll see a lot of the negative reviews talk about. This in itself isn't a problem since it shows there's a lot more to the game than just "swing sword" and a lot of the negative reviews are more salty that they need to give commitment to the game rather than just hop in and be good.

I've played a good amount of the game (as you can see by my playtime) and it does really take a lot of commitment to get good but it's still such an enjoyable game while you get better. Each weapon has its gimmicks and strengths that make class building an actual experience rather than just "Select primary, select secondary, fight" and what happens with that is people that don't actually understand what they're grabbing get pissed off when things don't work the way they want it to.

Enjoyable game, not for everyone

The negative reviews are just dumbasses who can't understand parts of the game, always make sure to check their playtime before believing anything like "resources don't matter" or claiming that the political factions do nothing, because I can assure you they DO matter and they can ♥♥♥♥ you over if you don't manage them. The original frostpunk was the survival of a city, it's flat out ignorant and stupid to expect the 2nd to be the exact same when that goal was already accomplished.

People that look at the game are whine that the immersion is different cannot see the bigger picture of the game and rather choose to complain about it being different from the 1st, it's incredibly frustrating to see an amazing addition to the first game be criticized over half assed ideals and opinions.

Resources are a long term problem because they're supplying a society now, not just a city. The cold is still an issue, just in a different form from before because you're heating a society. Public opinion is no longer just "discontent" and "hope" because there's so much more to a person than simply being content with survival, which can seriously backfire if you ignore and cause your society to start crumbling from the tension between factions alone. Everything has been put together in a way that makes sense, while also still providing a skill curve to travel up on to understand why they make sense.

Just check the negative review playtimes, don't believe someone that says "I beat it on the hardest difficulty" when they only have 13.5 hours cause I can guarantee you what they did was play on easy or normal and beat it only to try the hardest and get halfway and just assume they could beat it. It peeves me so hard and you really can't avoid people with poor opinions leaving poorly made reviews on steam.

Now there is a flaw with the game, it can feel very repetitive when starting out or in a long running game. The first frostpunk had this same issue don't get me wrong, but it seems pretty noticeable in this one. Not to say it's ruining the game in the slightest, it actually gives you some breathing room to figure out your gameplan. But I can understand people's problem with this

Happy steam awards everybody!

If the quality of interstellar was used in a game, genuinely a 10/10 masterpiece built for the truest of gamers.
