A Worthy Successor to Hades’ Legacy

This game is easily one of the most engaging single-player experiences ever created — and it somehow surpasses the brilliance of the first game in nearly every way.

From the very first run, it pulls you into a world that feels richer, darker, and even more alive. Every encounter and line of dialogue feels purposeful, brought to life by a cast of well-developed, charismatic characters that make the Underworld unforgettable.

The gameplay is deeper and more refined than before. The sheer variety of ways to tackle each run — through new weapons, boons, and an expanded leveling system — keeps every attempt thrilling and fresh.

The story is masterfully crafted, weaving myth and emotion together beautifully. While the ending feels a bit rushed compared to the rest, everything leading up to it more than compensates. The writing, music, art, and gameplay all work in harmony to deliver a near-perfect experience.

Final Verdict: 10/10 — A stunning, unforgettable evolution of an already legendary game.

Simply - a masterpiece. One of the greatest games I have ever played.

The gameplay loop is addicting, with every run feeling fresh thanks to the variety of weapons, boons, and upgrades you can mix and match. What really elevates it, though, is how the narrative is woven into the roguelike structure. Each death pushes the story forward instead of holding it back, giving purpose to your failures and making progression feel meaningful.

The art style and soundtrack deserve special mention as well — both are absolutely stunning. Supergiant crafted a world that feels alive, vibrant, and packed with personality. Even after dozens of hours, I found myself wanting to go back just to hear new dialogue, experiment with builds, and uncover more about Zagreus’ journey.

In short, Hades doesn’t just set a high bar for roguelikes — it redefines the genre.
