I rate this game 66/100 being one of my most played games with over 3500 hours across platforms. 91/100 if I was a new player. And 100/100 being involved in the game outside of the game it self such as content creators and eSports. I must say there are a lot of things wrong with it and it is a frustrating game if played competitively. They ruined the game in many ways when epic games took over. Its also no longer on steam cause its moved to epic so they would have to force players that want to get it that didn't have it before to their platform. The only thing I like about Epic Games is that they are in a war with Apple which their products suck and are only used to revolutionize the industry standard on mobile phones and computers such as no headphone jack, wifi, CD's, notched bezel, and soon port-less device. They ruined the game with the "item shop" which killed fan favorites like Titanium White Zombas and Titanium White Fennec but also were stupid enough to buy Psyonix meaning that they own Rocket League and had to get rid of the Crates and Keys system cause it was gambling for kids. Because of this they had to make a website called epiclootboxsettlement which stopped functioning up until I believe April 26th but let players get money back that they spent on keys before Epic Games replaced it with Credits back in the day. The ranking system is ok but the matchmaking system SUCKS. There are smurfs, bad teammates, people that just leave your game so you lose a player which will most likely mean that you lost the game and you either sit there trying to 2v3 or 1v2 in competitive or just forfeit. Good thing this game is just full of cosmetics and its not pay to win. The only items that make a difference are the cars, they have different hit boxes with Octane being the most popular. As someone with around 3.5k hours in game I used to like to trade a lot when I wasn't as good at the game. There is plenty enough traders to just play this game for trading only if that's something you want to do so at least there is versatility of what you can do. You can either be a casual player, competitive player, freestyler, or trader. I later got into the competitive side of Rocket League after spending $500 in game and getting over $2000 worth of cosmetics. I only play 1v1 because I don't have to stress about teammates or smurfs which are both things most people at low ranks hate and blame them if they cant rank up. It is possible to carry teammates and bypass smurfs but you need to be higher skilled and the higher ranks such as grand champions and super sonic legends don't understand and tell you that you can carry your teammates or beat the smurfs; but you cant cause you aren't as good as the people that are telling you that you can do better and its annoying cause that's all you'll ever hear unless you get a coach. I recommend joining the Rocket League discord server if you to trade or play the game or just find others that play the game. There are tons of content creators such as Musty, Lethamyr, Sunless Khan, Fluuump, Cbell, Striped, Wayton, Arsenal, Squishy Muffinz, Johnnyboi_i, and much much more. Some people just play this game or watch this game just because of the content creators. Custom maps exist on steam but if you want them you need a work around on the Epic Games version cause you cant get this game on steam anymore and Epic Games does not support the steam workshop so its a pain in the a*s. There is also RLCS which is also known as Rocket League eSports. The main focus of the eSports side of this game are NA and EU but there is also OCE, KSA and others. Teams like Cloud 9 (which retired from the game cause of RLCS Season X '10' ), NRG, Space Station Gaming, G2 eSports, Vitality, BDS, XSET, Top Blokes, Endpoint, Guild Esports, Solary, Dignitas, Team Liquid, Team Envy, Rouge, FaZe Clan, Alpine Esports, Version1, Ghost Gaming, Charlotte Phoenix, Oxygen Esports, eUnited, Galaxy racer, Team Queso, Team Singularity, and A LOT more. There is also the Rival series which is a place where teams can qualify and if you win you get to be part of RLCS. In RLCS NA and EU have tournaments and when the final team from NA and EU beats their regions, they come to a LAN called the RLCS grand finals. You can watch every RLCS match on youtube or twitch. If you go to the LAN regional finals then you can get a PRO wheel such as the Metal Star Pros, Emerald Pros, Mothership Pros, Aero Mage Pros, and more. Each are a coded item which you redeem in game then become untradeable after you use the code to get the item in game. People are associated with this game just for the content creators or RLCS so thats pretty cool. You dont have to play this game to be part of it. There is also the 1v1 scenes which Johnnyboi_i does a lot of on his channel which I am very into. Overall what a game. But I don't like it that much after 3500 hours the game it self besides 1v1 is kind of eh, VERYYYY toxic game by the way. And also its ran by Epic Games. So yeah enjoy the rest of your day. I only play Rocket league for the content creators and RLCS side of the game. If I didn't spend $500 in game I would of quit.
