This is a great game so lets start with others complains.

1. Game takes forever to download/file size too large -> Well what did you expect. This isn't flightgear, (Don't worry flightgear, I love you), it's an extremely realistic and detailed simulator. To get the quality you deserve you need large files. The base game is something around 150 GB's, which took me, on my essentially broadband internet roughly 38 hours. My install, with the addition of multiple addons, is around 230 GB's.
2. It runs horribly/my computer can't handle it -> Once again what did you expect its not flightgear (I promise I love you FG). It's not going to do to well on your Dell Inspiron laptop from 2012, however you don't need a supercomputer. I'm running a i5-6400, GTX 1050Ti, and 8 GB's of ram. Setting the game to low/medium setting resolves almost all performance issues with the exception everyone in a while of a little stuttering when close to the ground and surrounded by trees.
3. The game doesn't install properly/It's too hard -> Well for this I don't have anything except you did something wrong. There's very few steps to installing. You launch it, tell it where to install to, hit install and let it do the rest.

MSFS is a great simulator, especially if you have friends to play with. There's little to say against it except the price of it and the addons in game but that is the price of having a simulator of this quality. You can always buy things when they go on sale. If you're interesting in flying or enjoy aviation then this is a great purchase, as long as you have something better than your childhood laptop.
