Half Life 2 pales in comparison to the original and was all around not a fun time for me, the level design is plain gimmicky and bad. I hate the argument that it's allowed to be this bad because it's the first of its kind when it just isn't...this is a sequel. and a bad one at that, it is tedious and offers little reward with its "story" (Everyone just sucking off Gordon for 8 hours like he didn't disappear for 20 years) and no matter how much I play I can't help but feel the developers lost what their original intentions where for Half Life in favor of showing off the new engine and tricks they had learned, and granted the game is very impressive looking and in many many other ways but what it makes up in that department it once again simply lacks in the game play aspect and i don't play games because they're pretty and have cool physics, i play them to be immersed and have fun. Also ♥♥♥♥ headcrabs.
