Wonderful multiplayer game that lets strangers and friends kill and backstab and lie their way into airlocks. Perfect for virtual meetups with friends and socializing with work colleagues. I wish there were voice communications in the game to allow for quicker discussions, but Discord + auto-muting bot are a good workaround.

This is a wonderful followup to the beloved and difficult Spelunky. New mobs are well designed, new map layouts and hidden caves are expansive, secret items and levels are top notch.

The only con is that the game audio (music and game sounds) is a pervasive, non-stop psychological torture. It will continue to play in the background even when the game is minimized. I turned the music options off but kept game sounds at the minimum (for damsel location) and even then I hear a turkey gobbling behind a youtube window.

Ridiculously fun and deceptively hard. You never know when you're going to be killed from an off-screen arrow triggered by a spider wandering about or land in a spike or lava pit below. I wish that there were more achievements (only 20?!) but a few are incredibly difficult to acquire like the Low Scorer. Also has a good amount of replayability with daily runs (with a reset around 4PMish PST) and 4-player arena battles.

EDIT: I wish there were cloud saves. I opened the game and all of the controls had been reset and I ultimately find that my save file is totally gone. All my achievements in game, unlocked spelunkers, shortcuts and kill counts are completely poofed away. I'm not going to do the achievements all over again... I'm so disappointed.

Absolutely adore this game. As you move further and further into the game, different items unlock and each playthrough is unique from the ones before. Even after getting all 403 achievements (TOOK FOREVER), I still log on occasionally for the daily runs. Frustrating, a bit sadistic, but never a dull time.

Wonderful game and story board. Graphics are so-so, but the underlying tale and choice-trees/endings are earned. Definitely worth the price and replayability (if you're going for achievements). I wish there were actually more achievements based on other choices you can make in the game, but what is here is great.

Overcooked! 1 was great so I purchased Overcooked! 2 when it was on sale and I have completed the story mode so far in solo. Where Overcooked! 1 had a steep learning curve and it was difficult to 3-star levels without frustration, two has a much kinder learning curve (for the 3-star achievements at least). It allows the casual gamer to complete the game and see all the cut scenes. But it's after completion that you find the frustration levels that you were itching for... there's a FOURTH star that you now need to for every level! Example: for level 1-1, 240 rating will net you the 3 stars, four stars is 1300! I love this game!

I played Overcooked with friends at a party and fell in love. It reminds me of the Papa's Pizzeria flash game series, where you are making custom pizzas and burgers on a timer. Overcooked does have a solo game mode where you control two chefs at a time. While it is very hard, it is beatable. After I bought the game for myself, I managed to earn three stars on single player for all levels, including the winter expansion map.

The downside of Overcooked is that it is more fun to play with friends than solo and, unfortunately, there is no way to play with friends online, only on LAN (an online multiplayer as been 'in the works' since the game's launch in 2016...). It's also easier to play with a controller than a keyboard because you cannot remap any of the keybinds. Be prepared to cramp your left hand smashing Shift/Ctrl/Alt and all the arrow keys (or WASD if you really hate yourself) while soloing on a keyboard. While each map has a different twist to overcome and a new dilemma to solve, once completed, there is no reason to replay or even open the game again until a game night (unless you're going for WR times on each map).

TLDR: Great for parties/with friends. Solo mode less impressive, but nice difficulty curve.
