Going to amend my original review to say they have alleviated a lot of the crashing issues within a day, which is good.

However, the menu is still terrible, its still laggy, and there are still crashes (albeit much less common. I actually did not crash myself but a couple buddies did.)

The gameplay is fun, but I think the new perk system is a step backwards. Maybe that's just me.

At the current level of bugginess in the menu, I could probably look the other way for an indie game, or even just a smaller company. But the fact the game is $70 and its this badly designed on the UX side is just sad.

I can recommend the game for its actual gameplay, but I'm leaving my review as a negative until this menu system is sorted out.

Original review:
--------------------------------------------------

Gameplay is fun. It's call of duty.

The Menu UI is absolute trash. None of the player card customization even works. (Change your emblem / calling card -> Can't.)

Menu's constantly crash. Try to edit a loadout and you've got a 50/50 shot of getting tossed back to the main menu when trying to edit classes.

Matchmaking is busted maybe 30% of the time where it gets hung up on "Connecting"

Everytime you start matchmaking, join a match, or load a map, you're rolling the dice on if the game will just ♥♥♥♥ itself and crash.

I spent a good 2 and a half hours trying to QUEUE for a game because one of my party would always crash. Tried various fixes, and while it maybe helped some, it is still a crash ridden bug-fest.

The fact they can charge $70 for this crash simulator is mind boggling.

I really loved MW2019. They crapped the bed with this one.

Give it some time and hope they fix it. 'course, maybe they'll do what they did with MW'19 and just abandon it. A nice big '♥♥♥♥ you' from the devs.

I 'spose I should note I'm running this with a 5800X and a 3080. Just left most the settings on auto, 1440p. Game runs fine if you can get into the actual game.

Trash the entire menu system and just put some minimal bars and graphics that look like they are straight out of 1992 and it'd be better than the turd you've got now.

Oh no! A highly anticipated MMO is having server problems at launch! Who would have ever seen this coming!

Oh NO! Amazon is PUBLISHING the game and they RUINED NEW WORLD! (Even though they also made new world and had jack sh*t to do with development on this game).

Some of these reviews are pretty dumb.

Not a big ARPG fan myself typically (Or rather, I just am very picky about them) but I am enjoying this so far. Controls are a bit wonk to me but I'm getting used to em. I also played a 4/5 difficulty class so I'm sure that's a contributing factor.

Story is super lame and some of the voice acting is... questionable... Sometimes I feel like I hear moaning while I walk around town.

I wish there was a way to progress through the main quests with your buddies, and a legitimate complaint I have is that even if you try to do the baseline quests with them, you're getting channel swapped like crazy so it's nearly impossible to stay together. But the dungeons are instanced so that's a moot point there.

All in all, I really like it, and it was free. Definitely worth a shot, and if you don't enjoy it, you only lost some time.

Oh yeah. I actually enjoyed New World. Sue me.

This game is a bit of an odd duck. For reference, going into this, I've played Terraria, Starbound, and Crea. I enjoy them all for different reasons, but they will form a basis for my stance on this game.

tl;dr This is a promising start to a sidescroller sandbox game. There are a lot of tools and a ton of deep customization options, however bugs, disconnections on MP, lack of mods as of now, and bad tutorials can leave a bad taste.

The surface world generation for this game kind of sucks. There isn't a whole lot going on there. It is fairly small. However, under the surface, vast cave systems permeate the planet. This makes digging and exploring very enjoyable. There are dungeons to find that are integral to your progression through the game.

As an odd way to prevent you from progressing too fast, you have to do these dungeons to find hammers that let you upgrade your anvils. Without the hammer upgrades, you cannot use higher level ore to make armor. This is interesting although I don't personally enjoy it as much as Terrarias progression, it has halted me from speeding through the game.

You do get souls from killing enemies, which are used in upgrading your characters skills, as well as upgrading your equipment. This is a part of the game I really enjoyed, although getting souls in the very beginning is a bit cumbersome.

Farming is important as it helps you permanently level your HP and SP stats.

Probably one of the coolest features of this game, however, is the magic crafting system. The magic creation system is so ridiculously in-depth compared to any other sidescroller. It gives you control over the form your spells take, the damage they do, how they react when hitting an enemy, or the environment. It is completely overwhelming at first but once you get the hang of it, it is seriously impressive, and the fact that you theoretically can share spells using codes is just another cool thing that makes it awesome.

HOWEVER, the tutorials in this game are pretty bad. The english isn't perfect and the pictures they use to guide you through the tutorial are less than great. I can give this a pass right now, however, due to early access. Although the spell sharing never worked for me, I also must note I've played this game exclusively in multiplayer with 1 other person, and the multiplayer is quite buggy as of now. Its not unplayable by any means but there are a lot of bugs, desyncs with the host, and disconnections. However, I again can look past this as I'm aware its an early access title.

All in all, this game takes some time to wrap your head around fully, but its got a strong foundation. I hope to see it expanded on. I would love some variations in the world, as it is rather bland right now. Mods would do this game wonders, as would a varied overworld.

I've only played this game with friends, but it provides an almost ridiculous amount of entertainment for what it is. It never seems to get old and we always come back to every few months. I paid like $5 for it, and with 44 hours of playtime on my profile at the time of writing... well, it doesn't get much better than that.

This is the pinnacle of Early Access Titles.

I bought this game quite awhile back, and it has always had an incredibly polished feel. There were some worries back then because the gameplay got fairly stale fast, but I've always enjoyed the core content.

When I came back maybe 8 - 12 months later (kind of guessing on the time, it was awhile), I was happily surprised. Assignments, drinks, unlockable weapons, perks, milestones... a lot of things that added the replayability I had wanted.

With higher difficulties coming later this month, I can't recommend this game enough. If you've got 2 or 3 friends, this game is a blast.

Developers with a roadmap that they actually adhere to, a rock solid foundation, and plenty of charm to go around, this is a one of the only titles I've bought the supporter package for, and I don't regret it a bit. Keep it up, you bearded bastards.

Gorgeous and nostalgic. Resident Evil 2 has been my favorite in the series since I was a child. While I love 4 (and 7), the old school tank controlled ones have had a special place in my heart.

To see this game remade like this is wonderful. It controls beautifully, and ran even better (Although my machine is pretty powerful). I did drop the texture quality down to the second highest, because even with my 11GB of vram, it was reading that it was going to use over 12(!). Still, it ran with zero hiccups.

The police station was redesigned just enough to throw me for a loop while exploring and trying to progress, but not enough to where I didn't recognize the rooms I was in. All in all, I'd consider it extremely tasteful in the redesign.

While I can see some disliking the general bullet-sponginess of the zombies, I will say that I welcomed it, as it kept me on my toes. Whereas typically when these games are ported to PC, it becomes an all too easy task to horde ammo (RE4), I was kept mindful of my ammo expenditure. Plus the fact that the knife breaks over time means you can't cheese your way through enemies for the most part (looking at you, RE4)

I typically don't visit many single player games these days, but I am excited to play this when it comes out later this month. I did not want to quit after the 30 minutes.

Thank you for this loving recreation Capcom. I'm sure many others besides myself will enjoy it.

One of the best RPGs I've ever played, and my favorite Fallout game.

Modding this bad boy cranks it up to 11.

Very fun. Not very scary usually but the atmosphere is pretty great. Really really easy to horde materials however, I never worried about my stockpile from the moment I had a home base. But I did plenty of scavenging runs. All in all, I recommend it, especially if you see it on sale.
