Scratches that Tarkov itch when I want to play Tarkov, but don't feel like playing Tarkov.

Steam says I have only 1.3 hours in this software, but I have been using it a lot more than that before I decided to just start using Steam to run GMS2 (I was using the download from the YoYo Games site before). I bought GameMaker Studio 2 Desktop directly from the YoYo Games website while having my Steam account linked to my YoYo Games account, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it resulted in this software being added to my Steam library for free!

But anyway, as a beginner coder, I have to say GameMaker Studio 2 is fantastic. Its coding language, named GML (short for GameMaker Language), is actually pretty easy to learn, especially since the bottom of the windows where you type in your code tell you what you should type in the parentheses of certain code. Eg. It might ask for X and Y coordinates in the parentheses, in which case you can simply type numbers for those coordinates. Or you can just type "x" for the X coordinate and "y" for the Y coordinate (without quotation marks) in order to get the coordinates of, say, the object you're coding for. I actually have fun coding when I at least have an idea on what I'm doing. But there's still a TON of stuff I have to learn. Like, I still don't know how to use shaders. Every time I try to use one, my sprite ends up being invisible. But I'm certain it's just because I'm doing something wrong, and the software isn't the one at fault.

I haven't really made anything spectacular as of yet, but I have made something on my own that doesn't really pass as a playable "game", but more of a test to see how certain things are done, such as getting the game to display the player's PC's username, like a lot of creepypasta games do. Yes, creepypasta inspired me. Lol

So yeah, if you'd like to dip your toes into coding and game development, I'd recommend GameMaker Studio 2.

This software, although difficult to learn, is great for 3D modeling and rendering! If you ever feel too limited by simpler free 3D-rendering software such as SFM, do give Blender a try. Of course, you can even use it to make your own 3D models for games and mods. I've managed to get some TF2 hats (custom-made by myself just to mess around, they're nothing impressive) fully working in TF2, GMod, and SFM by using the community-made Blender Source Tools addon and watching tutorials on YouTube.

I have seen that 2D hand-drawn animations can be made with Blender as well, but I've never gotten into that. Just thought I should mention the 2D part for anyone interested.

A great game with 4 different playable characters (plus 2 more as DLC) each with their own ability and skill trees. TONS of loot to find.

I never decided to buy this game on PC until a while after I heard it got fixed up and got Kombat Pack 2, which was only on consoles. I don't know exactly how bad this game was on PC, but it now runs very well, even on my crappy laptop (Of course, I had to lower the graphics settings, but even then, it still looks quite nice). The only problem I have during fights is that it will sometimes be in slow motion, but that's easily fixed by either pausing and unpausing, doing an x-ray attack, or simply waiting. I'm sure the slow motion bug happens only because my laptop isn't that good, so hopefully, this doesn't happen to those of you with good PCs.

The story mode performed well, too. But after playing the story mode for a while without stopping, some of the audio started to make buzzing sounds. I fixed this by leaving the story mode and going back into it. Again, this may be because of how not-good my laptop is.

Overall, would recommend this game to PC players.

Easy to learn, hard to survive. Or at least it can be, unless you learn the patterns. Yes, this game uses patterns, so the walls you see aren't -entirely- random. Also, great music.

Has everything that the Xbox 360 version has. Everything. Including Infinity Mode and the same stupid survivor AI. The game also runs very well. So far, I've had no problems with it.
