I love games of compact size, and whilst this is that it has it all. Simulations, plays with time, alternate realities, mortality and love.

Limbo set the bar high yet Inside pole vaults over it.

The setting is ominous and you get the gist of it and can fully uncover by unearthing the trail of collectables (probably needs multiple play throughs). This game, much like Limbo plays off a childs survival in an unforgiving world, no punches are pulled and the puzzles smart enough to leave you with a smug grin (Then wipe it away with the learning curve for the next one).

With no dialogue or narration it is just one continuous big vibe of bleak mystery with a pearl of hope, and the feelings from completing it 2 months ago are still very much with me.

Whilst this is a great game and playtime does not represent value of the game I'd personally pick this up for under £10.

I'm sorry to give this game a negative review and would have to refrain from recommending it in its current state. Don't get me wrong even with my lack of understand as to the how, I am fasinated by the technological feats attained to make this game a reality. The reality is that this game has very little substance when the glossy film of novelty is worn away.

I played this game for roughly six hours and in that time learnt the copied and pasted layouts with ease, this ranging from the re-used monoliths, singular buildings with the two outhouses and the cluster next to the beacons or the landing pad layouts and how everything seemed basically the same.

You can only keep yourself in awe by the new planets for so long with the very limited way you interact with them.

7/10 I would recomend this game in its own right, when compared side by side with it's predocessor it is inferior but not by a huge ammount. The setting and environment still just as interesting and atmospheric however the story and characters taken a bit far, and have in cases poor development (looking at you Anna). If you want the true Metro experience stick to the first game and remember it for that, it's much truer to the book and serves for a much more interesting play through. Have fun dawgs.

Borderlands 2 is one of my favorite games easily, it only improves on it's predocessor. This game wouldn't be played for story or particularly interesting characters, the voice acting is actually fairly impressive though. It's the gameplay and lott system that keep me coming back for more, Borderlands is very unique in how it combines fps with rpg in such a wacky way, which does somehow work very sucessfully. Give this game a play fo sho.
