I was looking at the reviews and wanted to set some things straight. I only started playing in 2020, so I don't understand some of the things people are upset about, but some of them don't apply now.

This is a really fun and well made online combat game where you drive a giant 20-100 ton robot in wars. The matchmaker has issues at times, but it works well most of the time. There is a lot of customization you can do for the mechs, the mechs all have different hardpoints and quirks that they come with.

When you first start the game, it is a little overwhelming at first, and it can be hard to remember that your legs are independent from your torso, but once you get the hang of it, it works great.

Some people were upset about the skill tree, but it has been updated and now is great. There is practically no grind to this game, though there is a steep learning curve, but once you figure it out, it gets easy-ish.

people have been complaining about the devs, which I hear had not been active for a long time, but around 2020, right before I started playing, they got really active again. There are now monthly events where they give out free mechs and other goodies, and bonus events all the time. There are also monthly updates where they have been tweaking all the mechs and other things. They also finally added a new mech.

When you start the game, you start in tier 5 with other relatively new players, and slowly work your way towards tier 1, where the experts play.

When you start the game, there are a lot of really good bonuses for your first 25 matches that get you enough money to buy any couple of mechs that you want and customize their loadouts. In the game there are C-bills which are your standard money and you get from matches, and MC which is special and costs real money. MC only gets you decoration and hero mechs, which only give a 30% C-bill boost and have a slightly different hardpoints and pattern.

In this game there is no golden ammo or pay to win or play in this game. There are events that give you MC and other goodies in the mwo website so you don't have to pay so you can get MC. Only get hero mechs if they are half of, which happens about once or twice a month.

In conclusion, this is a really fun game, where strategy matters more than how many guns you have, and the best coordinated team normally wins. The game is free, so you don't have to spend money to try it out, but don't give up on it if you can't do well at first. It will be hard at first, but if you play enough, you will figure out your placement and start doing well and having a good time.

EXPERT TIP: stay with your team or flankers will kill you very quickly.
