Unbalanced, broken, buggy, crashes frequently,
but when paradox fixes the game it might be awesome and then I will change my review.

If you are a person who likes logical deduction this is the game for you!
Amazing game for anyone who loves logic puzzle games!
The developer clearly has a lot of talent and creativity, the game mechanics are unique and engaging and perfectly support the story and the mystery.
Truly one of the if not the best puzzle/narrative mystery game I have ever played.

The game is awesome, the UI (mostly the settings) is a 2003 style "I don't have to pay for a UI designer, I can do it myself" nightmare though, but I still recommend the game 10/10 for people who like management and or emergency services :)
Very fun and that is what counts

The 2v8 mode is so much fun, if you get rid of it I will quit the game for good.

The Face to Face mode where one person is in VR and the other players are locally in the same room is not functional sadly.

Would recommend this on sale, but not fullprice.

For anyone who has played other games such as Banished or Going Medieval, those games feel quite balanced, and all the different buildings really integrate well with each other.
This game feels a bit like its the Alpha verison where someone has already added all the Art and Animations but somehow the balancing (building intake and output speed) is missing.

Sure its theoretically possible to manually balance it all yourself like in Satisfactory by really optimizing all the inputs and outputs, but the UI really makes this very cumbersome and its annoying constantly having to retune this everytime you make a new milestone and suddenly need more of a few products.
The layout of the advancements sometimes really didn't make sense to me, but since its all one long tree that only has 3 "paths" you have to basically go through all the other research you dont want, just to get to that one thing you do want, even if that other thing is super basic "technology" and really does NOT build on previous tech.
I can understand if you need to research tools to eventually get to glass, but why do I need to research tools to get to being able to have sheep or pigs just as a random example.
So there is basically no way you can just choose one or the other building to research even if you have all the neccessary building materials already, because the game simply locks it behind another research.

Another part of the balancing that is absolutely broken is Safety, Loyalty to the Crown, and ofc Religion.
You get little choices sometimes like ohhh should we give 1000 coins to the church or say no and then we get -10 religion
You can basically always choose the outcome that gives you Minus in religion (from disobeying the church) loyalty to the crown (from disobeying the king) and ofc safety (from trading with pirates or taking in convicts) as long as you just build some minor stone shrines that will infinitely recover religion around town, cover some buildings with one guard tower that will then infinitely produce safety, and proceed to ignore those mechanics that are there to make the game harder but really don't.

The games nice but I can't recommend it as long as this game occasionally crashes everyones PC at the same time when loading into the game.
Also while the building system is made to be very customizable, but it sadly does really limit you at the same time by saying exactly where you can and cannot place things, for example stones;
want to make a line/wall? it gets snapped and thats pretty cool,
want to place somewhere else now near that line? well you basically cant.
want to make a stone wall that is not a multiple of 4 stones long? well you cant, in order to stack the wall it needs to be completed with 4 stones in a row.
want to make a stone floor? well you cant, because it tries to snap the stones together to make a wall/line so you cant just fill out an area.
want to place the stones on wooden rope bridges? well thats not possible.
do you want to build stone walls in any other angle than 90°? well you cant, it snaps and you have to just accept that, or spend a really long time trying to painfully custom place these stones without having them snap and rotating and then placing them carefully so that they HOPEFULLY meet up, and then just PRAY to all the old and the new gods that your placed stones count as a completed 4 piece wall and not 2 half completed wall sections.
so give up your dream of making a round stone tower now.
