My overwhelming impression of this game was "it's fine". It's probably the most 5/10 experience I've had in recent memory.

The core gameplay of it works fine and is enjoyable, but it very quickly devolves into a lot of frustration. This game is obviously drawing off dark souls, but lacks an understanding of what made the decisions and mechanics in that game enjoyable. The majority of the boss encounters made me annoyed instead and were not satisfying to complete when we did succeed, given that any mechanics that are present in the fight are so poorly explained as to be frustrating when you look up on the wiki what you were supposed to do.

If you're after a semi-souls-like looter shooter, it's pretty alright. You could do worse, but you could definitely do better. If you're after a narrative experience, especially in multiplayer, look elsewhere. Half the cutscenes broke for the people not hosting the session, only one person can interact with npcs at a time, including story npcs, but each session only gets their information once, so you can't each see what the first person who speaks to them sees or ask the same questions. There was a lot of confusion around why we were doing what we were doing or how we got to a given location narratively. It's not an experience I wanted to continue into new game plus nor one that I intend to return to, for the story or the gameplay.

I couldn't invite my friend to a lobby, but that's okay because we were literally the only two people online so we got matched in a game. If only the game would progress past the loading screen.

It's fine

This is simultaneously the most exhilarating and most frustrating fighting game experience I have been a part of. Definitely an acquired taste from a competitive perspective, but I still highly recommend it and encourage anyone who's a fan of the genre to at least try it out, especially if you have ever looked at Marvel and thought "Wow, that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up"

I highly reccomend this game to any RPG fan out there. The combat system is an awesome combo style turn based affair with a fun amount of depth that doesn't get too overwhelming. The characters and story are fun and enjoyable. My only two issues with the game are that, by the end, the most effective strategy against the endgame bosses boils down to spamming your super power abilities and then waiting a few turns to recharge them, and some of the character voices. The voices are not bad (I played with the japanese voices), but there were a few characters for me (compa in particular) who's voices I found very grating. Everything else though, from a gameplay and character standpoint, was outstanding. 10/10

The soundtrack alone is worth the cost of this game, but the actually game itself is marvelous. Easily one of the best purchases I've made on steam.
