great game

Beside the lame ass jokes it was fun and engaging. I found the gameplay of prince persia in a demonic atmosphere and i loved fixed camera angle.

-Negative sides


War's combat is not as fun as Strife's, and more importantly is not responsive. I get that repsonsiveness from Strife's combat.I attack enemies but I only see a yellow light on them, so seldom I see hit animation, I dont feel "I'm hitting them right now" they just slide backwards on the ground a little while they standing still. Because of that they dont pace with me , so most of the time I could not react to their actions or attacks and then I got hit, sent out of the map by one hit. I did not get the responsiveness I was looking for and also if we consider bugs alongside that, playing as War feels off. His enhancements are good but I cannot activate them in a fight bacause of the reason I said . I have enjoyed his abilities though, mostly the blade geyser that spawns blades around you from the ground.

I cannot remove abilities from Strife or War, abilities that I get from Dis's shop, they have affected my experience with the characters so bad. I just wanted to try a new ability on my character, to see what it does, but after seeing it goes bad with my character's combat I wanted to remove but I could not, so I just had to play with it for the rest of the game. Especially the ability that grants War quick attack right after dashing.

The game has a lot of bugs and problems. The enemies that stand still or get stuck somewhere in the middle of a fight, creature cores that sometimes get positioned in the map in a way that I cannot collect them, enemies that send you out of the map by one hit, animations that sometimes don't get displayed, etc. When I first got in the game, I got so excited because it drew me in with its world and characters, but as I saw so much bugs, I got disappointed. I think the atmosphere of the game and characters are awesome, but bugs making the game lifeless and get the joy out of it.

I had a little problem with some of the mini bosses, like the one that uses mini gun, it was firing without stopping even if I was behind cover I could not even get out of my hiding position to attack. And after that I had to restart it or die deliberately.

I felt like costumes were put randomly, I mean I completed all the levels in apocalyptic difficulty but its reward is strife's golden skin, I wish it was more rewarding. At least I would have another reason to complete the game again besides completing it to get all the trophies. Blue one is the best in my opinion as skin for Strife. Addition to that, some costumes don't look like different when I look at them with the current camera angle. There could have been different skin system or different designs and colors for costumes so I can see they are different from each other when I look at them.

While playing Strife, I had some hard times with enemies, because even though I select another bullet type, my current one does not switch to that type most of the time.


-Positive sides

One of the best things in the game is listening to conversations between War and Strife and also other characters. War's seriousness, determination, and Strife's humor blended together was the thing that drew me in and kept me playing the game and also kept me curious about where their relationship was going. They made me laugh several times along the journey and also smile especially after hearing Strife'" Great power? Responsibility? I got this!" line, I assume that he's making allusion to Spiderman, but really, seeing these kinds of mini details is just making me smile. Fun and compelling characters. I hope I can see Strife again in the near future. He is my favorite horseman.

Cinematics, art style, characters's voice actors and the music of the game are just awesome. Definitely, the art side of the game is killing it. They represent the world well, and also literally manage to make me focus on the game, keep me playing the game. I got the literal feeling of "what's happening and where am I right now." I can say that they helped me have much more fun in the game. I recommend you listen to this game's soundtracks one by one, they make me pumped.

I loved Strife's gameplay. Bullet types and their hot streak features were so good. They were one of the things that helped me most enjoy the journey. But I wish the game had given me all of them on the adventure. It's not my thing to get skill or ability from shop; otherwise, it's more fun and encouraging.

I enjoyed solving puzzles, the puzzles that we combine aether spark, void ball and War's gauntlet to solve them. Especially aethter spark sections were so good, I wish all of the puzzle sequences were much more challenging because it was good to come across some time-limited puzzles and challenging like the one that is in void.(our headquarters).

Bactracing, puzzles, parkour sequences, coming across some secret pathways were really cool but one really cool thing about the game and these things is changing camera angles. I felt like I was playing old god of war series, because they helped me feel the atmoshphere of the world, while contributing to presentation and also adding unique depth to the game.

The anarchy(Ultimate) forms of the characters contribute to giving the feeling of destruction, I can feel it. A world Darksiders Genesis has needs to have these kinda brutal things to give the feeling of its atmosphere. I really enjoyed it.

I once read someone's review saying, "Give me Darksiders Genesis with Death and Fury again, and I totally agree with them. It would be nice to experience this kinda game with different characters and different storylines. But of course with polished version.
