Ill start off by saying this game is not for everyone. it has a fairly steep learning curve, as well as the fact its perma-death with pvp/survival does make it quite niche in the game market space.
having played this game off and on for quite along time I can honestly say it is both a love and hate sort of relationship.
there is not alot of direction or "hand" holding by the Devs its pretty much opening a box of lego with 1million pieces and no instructions.

but if you get past (survive) that element the game it self is quite enjoyable enough, watching your little plot grow as you level up/unlock skills and grind item qualities is quite fun (in a very late game grindy way)
ofcourse there is always the risk of dying to animals or players which can set you back a little bit but that also adds to the charm since it gives finding a good spot paramount and makes you more careful with how you interact.
unlike say minecraft where you will blindly rush 20 creepers and respawn. Haven is not a game you blindly charge players or animals.

while there are quite alot of toxic players in the community there are also alot of chill helpful ones as well, should you be lucky enough to reach out to them.
while PVP can not be turned off. there are more then enough ways to limit or almost remove the risk of PVP effectively making it more of a PVE style game. but then you also lose out on the risk/reward elements.

I would highly suggest using a 3rd party client like Enders over the default GUI. since the Dev's did an ok job on their GUI... but it really sucks, 3rd party ones give alot more options both graphically and information wise, it almost becomes second nature to rock them when playing.

if you can handle the risk of dying, and dont mind having to spend time grinding skills/stats and item quality, Haven is quite a enjoyable little game more so now that its 3d instead of the old 2.5d legacy version I started on.

no you do not need to Pay to play it. the sub offered only gives you cosmetic hats, and 1 extra inventory slot to start out with. and minor buff. all of which is not required to play and doesnt really give you much of a boost outside of starting out.

while the game still has some DC bugs and minor issues for its pre-release beta, the game's core is still very solid. while its not 100% vermintide (thank god) the overall gameplay design is easy to understand and pickup for new or experienced players. the game as a whole is alot of fun even if you are getting wiped out over and over again. they did a decent job following the GW lore and designs for a grimdark game.

best open source game of 1994. glad to finally get to play it offically on steam instead of linking my game launcher into steam. some where i still have my TT/TTD disks. so being on steam this is a classic well worth downloading. add in a few community files and really tweek the game to the extreme.

always enjoyable and quite relaxing when you dont want to pewpew or craft junk. OTTD is there to give your day a nice relaxing OST and no rush game play

game was fun and still is but devlopment seems to have ended on it as there are no new updates or patches at all since about 2019, theres been no offical launch or anything so. its best to assume the game is dead.

in current state the few bugs are minor and the core gameplay can and is still enjoyable enough. but id only buy it on sale for vast discount at this point. until the dev refocuses on crea instead of their new game they started up instead of finishing crea

the game has come along way since i bought it, and continues to improve. while the learning curve is high (on par with say dwarf fortress) the satisfaction of every minor success makes it quite enjoyable. even when you play on 200% hardcore mode and only survive 12days

if you enjoy hard colony managing games without having to boot up DF classic, you cant go wrong with First Feudal.

decent little survival game, have not tried offical pvp server(s) only pve which still provides enough thrill and enjoyment to the game. there isnt a massive grind like in other games (ark/conan/eco) but it still takes time to unlock tech.

graphically the overall astetic of the game is quite pleasing and clean. the only gripe is related to building rotation namely doors do not seem to actually build facing east/west only north/south. yet they will show as those faces while moving or building do to wall snap. but given the game is not finished, its not a huge issue.

does make base design limited, but still useable.

sound is nice alot of indie games skimp on midi BG giving the game a dead world apperance but cryo actually has enjoyable looping music, even after several hours you dont really get the feeling of "oh god this song again" or a dead world with just wind.

overall as a time wasting survival game its quite enjoyable, the road map does leave quite alot planned for future patches so overall, enjoyable and fun

dice servers are heavily filled with ESP and aim bot players. making it next to pointless even trying to enjoy the game. while the odd cheat free game can be quite enjoyable and fun. having to jump in to 20 matches to find 1 or 2 where 1 or several players arent running 130 kills 0-3 deaths quite a chore.

the rate the game is going there is little support from the admin side of things so playing BF5 you may as well run with cheats too. cause improving skill is worthless when a guy can know where you are and 1 shot you across the map with a shotgun when you respawn.

game is quite enjoyable, even with the bug/crashes. or the fact it requires Xbox live account to CooP right now. the overal game is quite enjoyable with alot of areas for future expansion and improvements. ontop of the fact its very honey i shrunk the kids esqu it explores another survival area that isnt normally touched. this game has no annoying zombies or super over played ideas. its simply on the surface your childhood and bugs. this so far has been the only game with actual jump scares for me. as the spiders are creepy as $%$#.. iv played other jump scare style games with or without survival and this one actually makes me scared of the night/darkness since you never hear them until its too late.

over all pretty solid game, excluding the avg bug/crash but being its EA im not really shocked by that. graphically its decent, stuff looks nice and game feels real enough. not sure how the game is really solo, only played the demo solo and EA coop honestly i would suggest coop for this game just because wolf spiders are Aholes... like take 30 Aholes cram them in a tight tube then shove that inside another 30 Aholes.

but ignoring them its not a bad game at all, with future updates it can be a solid game. on par with like age of conan or ark hell even minecraft. just right now it lacks some building options.

TL;DL:
decent EA game, minor bugs and crashing.but repairs are already in pipeline.
more enjoyable with friends then solo. gives new view of survival games and really makes you hate spiders

basic banished is a great all around game, as bug free as can be expected. with mods it only gets better as alot of the mods add new options or life improvements. overall banished is a solid game quite enjoyable 90% of the time. 10% makes you rage as you get death spiral periods

overall great game mods make it even better without being a requirement to enjoy it
