This game is quite a bit of fun whenever you know how to play the game. It's one of those; miserable to play on your first playthrough, gets more and more fun the more you play it. When you master his parkour move set and familiarize yourself with how things work, it's quite exhilarating blasting through levels abusing Sonic's new move set.

Of course, while the main fun aspects of the game are the 3D portions, the 2D portions and minigame sections should be removed imo. I feel like they take away from the interesting design of the 3D sections.

Anyways, if I could give this game a neutral score, I would. In the end, I'll give it a positive. I could recommend this game for thirty dollars, just make sure to try it and see if it's your cup of tea. If not, get a refund.

I know I do like this game, it just has a much higher learning curve than just about any other Sonic game I played.

Edit: Played and got every achievement on Steam Deck. Game works pretty well besides some small flickering effects every so often. Not a deal breaker at all. Would recommend for Steam Deck play.
