Early Access Review
It have farmer, it have potat, it have number go up. It also have uggo main character.

I mean... I don't know what you want from me, man. It's an early access idler about a bucktoothed, bald ginger killing tubers. It's free, so try it and see if you have a new kink, or some such.

Weirdo.

I don't think I can add much that others haven't already, but this game is art. I expected puzzly jumpscares, but I got so much more. Actually disturbing, not just spooky.

What a cool, gorgeously dark game. My only complaint is that I wish I paid for it so that there was more. I kind of felt like I just beat the prologue. That's pretty good as far as complaints go.

Well, that happened.

If for some reason you're reading this and haven't read any other reviews... stop. Now. Go download the game, it's free, and then delete even this review from your mind.

Thank me later.

It has take me a shamefully long time to review it. I freely admit that I haven't played the game long enough to fully critique the gameplay systems, I know that what I've played, I've enjoyed. I figure if you want an in depth breakdown of the story or gameplay, that's what the other reviews are for. THIS is more of a review of humanity.

Okay, that's a bit grandiose. It's a story... there, that's more accurate.

Magic of Autumn was recommended to me by great algorithmic son of Our Lord, GabeN(Steam), and it looked fantastic except for one little detail: my physical disability rendered it impossible for me to play.

So, since bothering developers is my favorite thing, I did just that.

Imagine my surprise when the dev not only replied to my request for a way to move the character with the mouse... but almost immediately implemented it as an option.

It's hard to articulate what that means to anyone who is physically typical, but it means a lot. The developer had little future incentive to make those changes, as the disabled gamer population isn't huge, and the folks who need that specific modification is even lower.

So, if you're even remotely interested in this game, give it a try and tell your friends. Chances are that if there's something you don't like, you can annoy the dev, too!:p

I don't write reviews often... usually when I'm very enamored with a game, or when I disagree with the popular opinion. This is a little of column A, and a lot of column B.

Also, I don't necessarily disagree with what a lot of what people have said about this game, but over the course of my first play, I found myself repeatedly exclaiming at some novel thing that happened... either by design or by emergent accident.

This is a VERY niche game, and I don't want to list everything that surprised me, in case I convince someone to give it a try. Instead, I will say that I felt like I had more control than I expected from reading other reviews(which is none). I'll also say that if the game concept interests you, go into it understanding that to my knowledge, you can't "win." It's a game where you need to set your own goals.

With that in mind, I think you might get a lot of enjoyment out of watching your insane little ant farm spread, adapt, and hilariously pervert and misinterpret your will.

I can't say enough good things about this series, and the third installment is the most impressive yet. I waited for the Steam port, and I'm glad I did. The graphical improvements of the PC port are gorgeous(for me, anyway).

The only nitpick I have is the mouse control for a later puzzle involving rotating an orb felt very sluggish. Other than that, I'm very pleased. I could play this series forever. Probably.

I have very little ldea WTF I just beat, but I'll be damned if it wasn't beautiful. I don't encourage the use of halucinagens, but if you just happen to have already taken some... get this game.

Also, just get this game, anyway.

This is the Battletech game I've been wanting for a long time. I really, really don't understand the massive amount of hate it's receiving at the time of writing.

To be fair, I haven't run into any of the bugs or crashes being reported after 5 hours of play. I understand those kinds of complaints.

The other bad reviews seem to be coming from those that don't like turn-based strategy, don't know what Battletech is, or just don't have the patience to read things. I don't get those kind of negative reviews.

I will definitely change my review if I find issue with the game, but at the current time it gives me exactly what I want: tactical control over giant robots destroying everything around them, and running the scrappy team of cutthroats inside said giant robots.

If you don't like those things, don't buy this game.

Also, seek professional help. Giant robots are awesome, it's a scientific fact.

Early Access Review
I can't believe how good this is, especially for an Early Access game. To me, it feels like Secret of Mana transmuted into a roguelike. It's incredibly accessible, both from a taditional perspective and from a literal perspective. It's controllable with keyboard, mouse, or controller, is turn-based, and has completely rebindable controls. I know those things don't matter to the majority, but for those of us with physical disabilities, these things make the difference between playing a game and having to return it butthurt.

Everything about Tangledeep hits that sweet nostalgia spot for me, as I came up through the 16 bit era. The opening title music instantly transported me back to the days of searching through 2nd hand videogame stores looking for copies of FF6 and Secret of Mana.

On top all that, the developer has responded to my suggestions and bug reports(Early Access is Early Access, afterall) often within the HOUR. That's a record in my experience.

If you loved the old 16 bit gems, roguelikes, or just want to support an Early Access game that isn't a scam and a developer that seems to really care... I can't recommend this game enough.
