I started this game accidentally and decided to go through the developer commentary for old time's sake. I listened to the old valve's choices for a bit and studied the models for the game for a bit to see some good designs for 3D models. After thinking a bit, it's saddens me to see how far this game has fallen.

I grew up with this game. It was one of many what made me choose PC for gaming as I wasn't limited by BS things like online subscriptions and forced controller use. I played so far back that I even got the Cheater's lament. I miss that hat as I was using my dad's account. Racked up a lot of hours and memories.

Now, I see that TF2 is plagued with bots, both idle and cheater bots that valve refuses to do something about. Items are balanced for competitive, even though the game was never designed to be competitive but a fun silly shooter that has an achievement where you cause a person to rage quit. And doesn't help that the community is far too passive to say no to terrible ideas and seems to be nothing but redditors at times. Though that seems to be the internet as a whole at times.

The more I see this game's current state, as well as a lot of games and media as a whole, the more I want to make something better to replace this garbage we are all getting. We all work hard for our cash, and we should get the best. Even if it is free.

Valve, what happened? You guys used to be a beacon of good game creators that anyone could use to understand what works. But now, you are no different to the other developers and publishers that hate their own user base and only put out the bare minimum at best. Sad. I can not wait for the day when people form new teams to replace the old companies and say no to the terrible practices and ideas like DEI and loot boxes.

Oh, and to add on to this review, a message to everyone else. Don't rely on "fixtf2." It's ran by ecelebs and redditors that never liked TF2. Take a look at Uncle Dane's servers and the class limits on it. The only ones who can fix TF2 is Valve themselves. It's not up to us to deal the bot hosters. Valve is currently being lazy bums and trend chasers and not utilizing the fact that the bot hosters have committed actual crimes that they could easily get government help no problem.

Instead of "fixTF2," I like Gabber's suggestion of "Bringbackquickplay." These bots only arrived when matchmaking was introduced, as it automated joining of games. In the meantime, I recommend playing vanilla community servers and do not spend any cash on this game.
