This is a fun arena 3v3v3 game. I love how the terrain is able to be destroyed. It's very fast paced. It's nice having something new entering the scene.

Pros
Casual pick up and put down game
......I sat here trying to think of more for like 3 mins and gave up

Cons
Not super impressed with character graphics
A handful of classes are incredibly lackluster when referencing their use due to their perks
No voice chat with squad(the company decided that feature is a "legacy feature" their words)
No end game stats screen
Not super impressed with variety of attachments
Am very disappointed with the restriction of putting certain sights on certain weps. One of the LMG's you can only put a x4 scope on.
The game really needs to work on improvements to fps
LET ME TALK WITH MY SQUAD SO I CAN MAKE FRIENDS AND TEAM WITH PEOPLE YOU ♥♥♥♥♥!
There's more, but I've already wasted too much time on this game, I'm out. *Mic drop*

Waited 20mins in solo and another in group, no games? No idea what's happening, but I live in the US and it's 9pm, not 3am. It simply makes no sense with the steam player counts.

This game really is the next step in battle royals. It has a great progression system built into the outer layer too so you are achieving things beyond just that individual game. If you like other battle royals, I'd def suggest having a good half a week or so at the game.

I like this more than I like ark because it takes a lot longer to explore the lands and makes it more adventurous.

This is an incredible game. I am shocked at how smooth it runs and feels for being a game that's in pre-alpha. I love the brutality of pirates and every second online as a risk to both you, your ship, and your goods. This is not a solo game for sure, there is simply nothing to gain from being solo. Solo play in other survivals would equate to 2-4 people on a ship so you can defend yourself and gank other players. Your ship defense weapons needs people to man them, so if you only want to play solo, skip this game. I'm just so damn impressed with where it's at and it's only pre-alpha. Most early release games come out super bugged out and sometimes don't even get cleaned up till release.

READ THE END UPDATE, FIRST PART IS WHEN I GOT IT UPON RELEASE AND WAS LIKE HOW I SAID MONTHS LATER. HOWEVER, CAME BACK EONS LATER AND THINGS HAD CHANGED.

Editing my review. I was not plagued with the issues of crashes or bad fps. But my girlfriend and I were following this game since 2014. Our goal was to meet up in the center after building ourselves up and then exploring together. We thought this possible because "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AE0nuW-mQ8A", all those interviews said there would be multiplayer. Not once did he go back on that prior to release other than showing the game as single-player via steam. We figured since he kept saying how difficult it was to find anyone else is why the game was rated as single player. The only reason not to divulge that multiplayer is not even possible is for sales and profit alone. If you look at my game library, it will be quite obvious that I only play multiplayer games and that is the reason I bought this game. Thinking it would just be near impossible to meet anyone else, but that in itself was a challenge and the gf and I were just going to meet in the center of the universe and go from there. I was okay going solo knowing that in the end I'd be able to rock out with my equal at my side. We were lied to. It's not multiplayer. If this is not corrected, I can never buy another game Sean Murray or anyone on his team is a part of. I'm a consumer, and my only power as a consumer is to not get $#%^ on more than once by the same company/person. People in the community have been intercepting packets and there is no player location tied in. Escape menu pauses the game, and the options tab in the escape menu allows for you to load to a prior save point. Which indicates those people intercepting and receiving those packets to be telling the truth.

That set aside, there is more. This is something I first watched about this game and it had me interested or more than "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLtmEjqzg7M". In this you will see how deep the ecosystem appears. Animals grazing on grass, butterfly's fluttering around the trees in a group, animals walking back from a river as they were(probably) re-hydrating, Animals in the water to cool down, and a giant beast chasing something through the trees as all the animals scatter. It was showing us there was suppose to be purpose in the ecosystem they were building. After 40+ jumps and checking out a lot of planets, I've not yet found that experience. Now that's just hype build up and that's not why I'm down-rating this, it was just something I was really looking forward to and I don't think I was wrong to look forward to that.

There are like 10-15 prefab buildings used in no mans sky. They have different color schemes but are all alike. Every planet has these prefabs. They each have only one or no npc's. Why would a trade station only have one person in it? Space stations too, there's 0-1 npc there. Why would a space station have no one there? Ships constantly going in and out, groups of freighters all sitting just outside, and there's only one person inside the station. The space stations all have the same basic layout. I've seen around 4-5 different outer types of space station models. Again, every planet is littered by these same buildings. It's all so static and exploration, which is mainly what this game is about, is boring. Every planet has the same buildings with the same building types. That's like telling my girlfriend that I'm going to make her dinner. She'd come home and ask me why all I did was cut up a bunch of apples and why there's nothing else to eat. I'd tell her "But I cut the apples into 20 different specific shapes". She'd respond with "who the $%# cares, it's still an apple".

Sean Murray said he wanted us to feel like we've stepped into the universe. Where are the gas planets, the planets made of pure magma, the planets with fire rain, the pulsar stars, and much more? I feel so far after playing this that it was made based on the mere reading of bad science fiction novels and that he does not even keep up with modern space science. When I look up at the stars, I actually read about what we've found so far via science.

It's not very diverse, example for understanding; you have 20 hats, 20 shirts, 20 pairs of gloves,20 pairs of pants, 20 pairs of socks, and 20 pairs of shoes while each carry a different color. Your first question might be "why does this guy have so many freaking hats". The idea is you have 6^20 which is 64,000,000 different possibilities. But in the end, you're still wearing a hat, a shirt, a pair of gloves, pants(or so we hope), socks, and a pair of shoes. That's what No Man's Sky is. So much possibility, yet so static.

In the end, I do not recommend this game at this time as it feels very unfinished and not worth $60. I personally at this point have the feelings of regret. I am going to continue playing this as I've only explored a mere fraction and maybe I've merely not experienced enough. I'm going to travel to a far away land and see if there is a difference. I will change my recommendation if my experience with the game changes, regardless if that experience changes with updates or with the mere exploring of the universe. But right now I'm incredibly disappointed.

EDIT: It was confirmed by a Gamespot interview that no mans sky was never intended to be multiplayer "http://www.gamespot.com/articles/no-mans-sky-pc-and-ps4-patches-out-now-update/1100-6442779/". We were lied to and now he's trying to play it off as if he never said it was suppose to be multiplayer. It's a bunch of rubbish. I recommend no one getting this title or anything else Sean Murray is a part of, you'll just be lied to and let down. There's nothing worse as a consumer than being obviously lied to. I am requesting a refund and if that does not work will be opening a product dispute with my bank(You can open product disputes for false advertising by calling your bank).

END EDIT: As you see above, the lies ended up pushing the game towards offering the features that it does. It was never intended to be multiplayer PVE or PVP, it now has both. It
was updated in the past and you could see each other as "orbs" but now you can see each other as other individuals. You can now have friends assist in missions or PVE space combat. There are now PVE multiplayer intended missions. There was obvious work done on the randomness of the environmental creatures, and it feels like it's a bit more thick in categorizing creatures. There is now base building with a good handful, not deep, but a good handful of creation(I'd like it to become more deep). There are settlements you can take control of now. You can own a freighter and have frigates, not sure if this was there upon release because I focused on reaching the center of the universe for the sake of doing so (done in 27 hours which was me ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around and not going the fastest I could go).

So, there is more now. If I had choice and wanted to make change, I've deeply diversify resources available and needed in order to make a more robust trade system among other players to bring people together. I'd make it so players could set up a player market instead of selling it to the galactic market or buying from, an auction house of sorts. I'd like to see more random crap happening to me or giving me the option to interact and reward me while I semi-randomly float around getting XY and Z to get what I want done. I REALLY WANT TO SEE A MORE DIVERSE OPTION OF SPACE CRAFTS FFS. It's still mostly the old same ♥♥♥♥. The spacecraft system should have used the same system the animals and planets used. A slotted randomness. Example: A ship has 7 slots that creates it, a core, a seat, wings and w/e else, and then randomize that ♥♥♥♥. 9 trillion planets and only 9ish types of ships you can choose from? Gtfo. But, at least it's an actual game now.

I really love this game. The community is ruthless. Death is common. Your creativity can run wild in creation of secure buildings. I however moved to a community server from an official server due to hackers. Obvious hackers. Like jumping 300ft up, running through walls, lootings your base through walls, speedhacking(running epic fast straight up cliff sides), and aimbotting. I know, I know, everyone calls hacker when they're bad. But when they are jumping 300ft in the air and running through buildings, it's obvious hacking. On official servers admins being there is EPIC rare. My move to a community server is due to having active admins. The develpmont the rust team has made is amazing. The game requires a mid-high end computer or you'll suffer awful FPS. But honestly, optimization and hacking security typically takes backroad to develpmont of the game itself. I'm enjoying myself a lot on the community server. This game has a HUGE learning curve. You will be murdered many times, only for the reason of causing your death which I like. It's a brutal game, but I suggest staying away from official hackers due to the lack of admins which allows hackers to hack in the most obvious ways without fear of repercussion. I spent most of my time thus far on the Official facepunch Seattle server.
