Early Access Review
Very unfun combat that feels like a chore than a propper balanced experience you might know from other "stamina" based combat games, that had more "Soul" in it.

Thank god Elden Ring DLC is upon us.

This game actually made me feel unease and scared me a few times which is very hard to pull of as I got so used to VR horrorgames that just rely on jumpscares of the cheap kind. Madison has jumpscares too, some are predictable and some are don't (so it's done right). But it also has a really really good atmosphere and set pieces.

I can say this is finally a game that made me not want to do what I had to do to advance in the game because I didn't know what will happen next.

Highly recommend this game.

For the complains of the slow waling speed. You can actually run in this game. There is even an option to set it as toggle or hold. Backtracking is there but not as bad as some claim in their reviews. Like not bad at all.

Interaction with the enviroment is not your typical VR interaction, that is somewhat true but also not as bad as some claim. I only struggled once and that was not seeing the transition icon on my hand as it was very small and nearly too transparent. Other then that, absolutley no issues controlling the game.

I don't know what people expect or be shocked that this is an assett flip. Of course it is because it puts physics and meshes stuff from the UE market place into one tech demo so YOU don't have to build it by yourself to experience some UE5 physics. Also it's free.

It does what is says. Also it's pretty cool to see all those physics working in VR with UEVR.

Early Access Review
Bought it for VR back then and now it's gone. Nice move.

It was clunky but playable, having it selectable in a beta branch could have worked as a solution.

The original Alone in the Dark (AitD) and even 2 and 3 are one of my favourite game franchises. My early experience of "survival" horror.

Finally we have a good AitD game again (New Nightmare was okay). Atmosphere is great, the slower pace refreshing. It feels like a propper reboot or reimagine of the first AitD. If you're a fan, you will like this.

Every open lobby you just get team killed. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great idea having friendly fire with such community.

Very repetetive gameplay loop. Yes that's the core gameplay and if done right it's fun but here it's just not.

Also controls are completely overloaded and rebinding keys is not possible thanks to inputs resetting after every game session. If you're left handed or like to use arrow keys and numpad, you're screwed.

Overpriced remaster. Was really looking forward to this but it's a huge disapointment. Also the german translation is terrible. It has new cutscenes but else the asked price is way to high for what we get. Get the OG game and use a source port.

|This is a censored version of the game. No profanity options. Gore seems to be in there|

https://youtu.be/pQEPd__sQhs

After Blair Witch VR, Layers of Fear VR and Lust for Darkness VR, here is another dissapointing VR Port.

- Unplayable on Index controller.
Ingame hands are way off in relation with irl controller position. When holding weapons with 2 hands the weapons flip 45-90° to the side making comfortable aiming just impossible.

- No VR accessibilty options.
No options for weapon offsets/angles, belt adjustment, etc.

- NO graphic options. Like NONE at all. Not even presets like: high, mid, low. This is PC, where are the options for AA, Textures, Shadows, Supersampling, Post Process, Anisotrophic Filtering, etc.?

- Some shaders and effects are only rendered in one eye making it uncofortable to play

- Missing content (that would have worked in VR with some effort)
Right at the start the prologue is stripped down, missing the grenade explosion sequence. The turret section is just a short clip in a pre-rendered video... speaking of

- Dialogues are cut down too with completely missing sections even in the prologue. Pretty sure they cut way more content further in the game

- Cutscenes are pre-rendered and not in-engine like the flat version

- Graphically toned down
Shadows are stripped back, missing dynamic shadows, ugly looking baked in shadows

It's baffling to see how a passionate modding team can make a nearly perfect VR port of a flat game, namely Half-Life 2 in their spare time and for free but a actual gaming company who charges 40€ for this bad port. I don't say it should be free but in this state and with that missing content, no way.
