Always check the values of your items (http://backpack.tf/pricelist) before trading, to ensure you're not being ripped off. If you're suspicious about someone you're trading with, get their SteamID (http://steamidfinder.com/) and search them on a scammer database (http://steamrep.com/) . Not everyone on there that is reported as good is reputable though, by default everyone is set with good reputation.
