Supraland is a fascinating platformer with a very enjoyable aesthetic.

The game's platforming and exploration are handled extremely well, with every "chapter" giving you new tools to solve puzzles or navigate the world with, including some of the most satisfying I've seen since the Portal series.

The puzzles are very entertaining, even if the game is a little hand-holdy in its first half. Supraland does an exceptional job at giving you a problem, making you scratch your head for bit, and then having you feel like a genius when you realize how to combine your tools to solve it. (even to the point where it almost feels like you're breaking the game in some cases)

Sadly, the combat tarnishes the experience somewhat. The enemies are very simple-minded, and appear to only exist to be a nuisance. The most complicated encounters boil down to "is it one of the two enemies who can reflect bullets? shoot if no, stab if yes." The game also has an unfortunate habit of having monsters respawn and immediately start shooting at you right as you've figured out how to solve the next puzzle, which can be very frustrating when you just want to progress.

That being said, this is a stellar game, and I look forward to playing through the expansion(s) in the future. If you enjoy puzzles and platformers, Supraland is well worth your time.
