Simply one of the best RTS ever made, with a never ending evolution that started around twenty years ago.

The overall gameplay it's a bit too dumbed down, but the graphics and the generals' system design capture almost perfectly the feel of the Romance.

Can't use a right analog stick without having to mess with compatibility and administrative permissions in my pc.
Can't even mop a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ floor because this ♥♥♥♥ port forces me to use ludicrous and untested keyboard and mouse controls.

I remember playing this in my PS2, this game is extremely good and well done, but this pc port it's too much for me. I wasted 2 hours of my life just to get stuck at moping a stupid bloody floor.

Game, Just ♥♥♥♥ off, already, please.

Keeping in mind that this is a free mod of Half Life 2, developed through Source, which isn't exactly the most streamlined and easy to use and work with engine, I cannot but advise to play this beautiful game to whoever still is seeking that sort of Half Life ambience and still feels a nostalgic bind to that masterpiece which as Half Life 2. The story is pretty simple and nothing revolutionary (fortunately!), yet interesting enough to make one endure the somewhat hard challenges that this first person shooter presents. The gameplay is a common Source based one with some tweeks and lil' changes to make it a bit more original; e.g. the lack of a torch, subistituted by the combine's mask's azure light [ between a very fine touch! ].The music is right as, while it does not shine for excellence, it keeps a delightful company to the player.

I'm not one for numerical marks, however, if it is indeed required, this is, as far as I'm concerned, a solid 8/10.

What to say about such a cult RPG like Knights of the Old Republic?
Bioware, the one of the old splendour, did everything right, really. Kotor was built following the classic RPG formula to the letter and yet it isn't neither boring nor plain. An engaging story teeming with interesting characters and subplots and a bloody twist that made jaws reach the center of the Earth for the strength while falling down. A videogame with an old tegument but incredibly thrilling innards. Highly recommended to whoever loves role play games.

So, what to say about the umpteenth TellTale's narrative-driven videogame?

Plot

It must be immediately said that, concerning the plot itself, the game is, as always, extremely well-written. There are many references to the Borderlands' franchise, the most evident one being having Handsome Jack play bad [again] obviously, but the plot also seems to start with a very assested rythm that, howbeit, then tends to accelerate alot, maybe even too much; evidently enough this is seen in Chapter 5. The player plays as Rhys and Fiona, the two protagonist, although it seems initially that the true main character would be Rhys for he's the starting point of the entire story, without which nothing could have started. The cast is incredibly good and each characters is given just the enough amount of space and time to be. That's an incredibly difficult thing to manage, especially when you have such a large supporting-cast.

Gameplay

It also seems that Tell Tale is not making any effort to not necessarily better, but at least change the gameplay of their games. There is no evident difference in gameplay among Tales from the Borderlands, both seasons of The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us. The mechanics are always the same, however they are usually employed in slightly different ways, as is the case of the final boss fight in Chapter 5 of Tales from the Borderlands (wherein the player has to put up with more complex combinations that resembles those of videogames like Mortal Kombat or Tekken {more like Mortal Kombat, actually}). Furthermore, one should not expect any kind of difficulty in the gameplay for there are no puzzles to solve, nor conundrums to keep in mind during the unrolling of the plot. Beyond dialogue's selection, meandering around and quick time events there isn't much else to technically do, ever. Hence it transpires that Tell Tale doesn't want to evolve necessarily their games' gameplay, that may eventually lead to a stagnation of the gameplay's mechanics. It would really be fascinating if Tell Tale could embark in an evolutionary process like Quantic Dream did regarding the incredible change from Farenheit to Heavy Rain and then Beyond Two Souls.

Sounds

The OST it's partially well done. Exclusively regarding the Second Chapter the soundtrack is simply amazingly perfect as it ties flawlessly with what is shown, or rather "played", at the moment. In the next three chapters it can be heard that the soundtrack seems to get more discordant with the game's scenes. The music slowly becomes clashing with the ambience and atmosphere that the story seems to create and, whether or not this discordant music was deliberately made so to advocate certain feelings within the players, it certainly leaves an ambivalent reaction, which certain player may or may not enjoy.

Visual Aspects

The graphics are what one would expect from a Tell Tale's game. Cartoonish. Concerning Borderlands own graphic style one shouldn't see many problems within this choice; however such style leaves out certain visual effects and elements that could have contributed to the dramatization of the plot.

The real BIG problem

Tales from the Borderlands is an extremely beautiful, well-written, with an astonishingly good supporting music and ,last but not least, exceptionally fun game. There are lots of laughing moments of any kind of comedy: from pure sarcasm and irony to simpler childish "humour". The only real gargantuan problem is that the game lies to you. An assertion presented to the player just before the videogame starts recites more or less:

"This game series adapts to the choices you make. The story is tailored by how you play."

That is not entirely true. It is clear that to a certain extent it is impossible to make a game that truly develops and tailors after your actions as one of such nature would require a colossal amount of work and workfoce to metabolise such endeavour. Nevertheless, it also true that Tales from the Borderlands it is not, under any objective analysys, a videogame in which the player's choices considerably change the events (and this is valid for The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, too). The plot's chokepoints never ever change. There is no purposeful variation at all. What changes, based on your dialogue choices and a couple of last minute decisions, articulated on a simple distich, incredibly (and maybe sometimes excessively exacerbated) overdramatized, is the position, mood, behaviour or presence of certain characters in certain chokepoints or important events/scenes. That is all. To some this less consequential changes may seem important and may bring to meaningful moments. It did to me, it always does, but the undeniable true is that these changes are minimal. One could say that it is not the player the controls the story, but the opposite, it's the story the controls the player, whose actions can only really affect so far the plot and the cast. Certain death's always happens, certain lines are always said, but to some players that can be passed over as long as Tell Tale is able to provide a strong and colourful plot as it certainly and undoubtedly did for Tales from the Borderlands.
It is sad to realise that certain things can never be said to Handsome Jack or that the Tell Tale's guys did not want to let us really control Fiona and Rhys' romance's options (which could've been taken as far as letting the player PLAY, deeply and thoroughly, a romance between the protagonists. Such freedom, while on one hand would have certainly required a lot of more hours of development, on the other it would've given the possibility to the player to manage extensively the relantioship, of any kind, between the two protagonists), notwithstanding there are many other moments within the game that stand in for these lost possibilities.

Finally, if you like Narrative-driven videogames without any genuine obstacles presented under the form of puzzles and conundrums, hell, what the heck are you waiting for? Tales from the Borderlands delivers very good extensive laughs and a well-written story, within which the player plunges into many funny and slightly grotesque predicaments, that even those who didn't play the Boderlands videogame could enjoy fully.

I don't like to give "marks" to digital games as a number does not really explain itself independently, however if it helps you in any way I'd give a fair 7.5/7.7.

This is indeed one peculiar game. It's not something new, this kind of games were used a lot in the 80-90s,however it brings newness in the form of technology and science. The story it's very good and well-told,in the late-game it even acquires the right depth and seriousness without being too much hefty. The game makes you think alot about many different topics,it's contemporary to our time and could "conceal" some possible outcomes...but that'd be just speculation.
It's a game for everyone with high replayability and very few constraints. I'd reccomend it to nearly everyone who like to read books as much as playing videogames.
