I am a big fan of the Series. It's a unique game which certainly has it's place in my heart and steam library.

For the longest time i found the SR2020 Ui to be better then the ones in the following releases like in ultimate.
This has now be rectified. It looks cleaner while offering more features.

The AI and proxy war system made it a bit more interesting. You have more opportunites for bigger fights now which gives a bit more forth and back in the action. Also the ai does a bit more stuff which i did not expect from coming with "it's like SR2020". As for my own troops playing it slow and minimizing casualties while utilizing airdrops. I later noticed, that just handing the command over to the defense minister was not so bad and wasteful after all. And it is way faster to advance. So there have been improvements too.

With the Merchant transpoorts you can have suprises like invasions and such. Which barley happend in older versions of the game. The down side on this is, that the ai is moving hundreds of units around unguarded which is easy prey for subs. Which on my book is nice to make use of subs and navy after all. Even thouh it's a bit dumb of the ai to sacrifice units that way.
