While it's still in early access. For its price & current core game mechanics. yeah it's passed.

In long run, it has become repeatable/routine if you do not like it:
Start > arrange shelf > buy & place items > man the cashout > re-fill the shelf > buy license & expand the shop > buy new shelf > repeat arrange shelf ...

The management become easier when you bought the tablet & manage the hires then... you manage the supplies & new products in your store. They gonna add more challenges in next development.

I played Tropico 3 and 4 & its expansion packs and seen the improvements over its previous titles. For Tropico 5, it has some improvement and more on the worst changes on the existing features.

- The battle system, personally don't like it & it's backwarded for me: [1] group/unit stats, [2] battle priority (the heck??), [3] unit path for defense (sometimes glitches) [4] Surprisingly you change the education qualification for military via the Constitution.
- No more island-wide salary increase like in T4. Bro where did it go?!
- I did like the change to the Farm though as compared to previous. A fixed field/area for its crop.
- Changes to buildings... [1] locked behind the era system (yeah, nope), [2] some requires electricity (yikes), [3] some locked (even the upgrades) behind the research (OK, some challenge??) [4] Building functions now moved/converted to Constitution
- For some reason, finding out what the Faction wants/dislikes is manual in this game: You have to manually take note of it Per Citizen.
- Trade is another added manual staff & challenge in management. [1] The opportunity to add trade vessel is limited to buying expensive license in early games, building another Port, and building the Dock via upgrade. [2] In T4, you allow import Per Building, set import price limit, and then let the ship deliver it. This time in T5, you pick available trade/route then schedule it in the Trade management tab.

So I generally leaning to NO for this one or you buy the core game on discount or something. You still have the opportunity to do Island/Nation Management.

December 2024: We won the award, ARE WE REALLY BACK? Nope, it's the Illuminate. Scary & tough, but our Democracy is stronger! Oh yeah unfortunately, the purchase restriction is still active.

September 2024 Update: ARE WE BACK, CHAT?! IS IT COOKED? MAYBE? So why I haven't change it? Well, the fact and considering that my colleagues/friends & other players have missed out on buying the best game as the purchase restriction is still active.

PRE-September 2024 Update: It's been a few months since the PSN requirement has been "delayed until next time". Although as non-PSN player before the regional purchase lock, I still able to play whatever remains enjoyable for me despite the local computer crash & disconnection. The updates & warbonds have been generally down down then hiked up to fulfill the community's enjoyment.

Despite the news said... 90% player dropped. Think the game has found it's normal/consistent player stats.

6 May 2024: Sony announced drop the account linking deadline but the non-PSN still not allowed to buy, what does that mean?

4 May 2024: The Galaxy’s Last Line of Offence, the fight for freedom, Of our very existence, has fall apart. We will re-build Superearth from the destruction done by Sony.

Peace out to players with non-supported PSN region/area. I am in same situation as others who took part in this success of liberation, and will no longer be part of afterward.

For now...
Helldiver has returned to civilian life.

So... game development has exited from early access.

The ease of gameplay has been majorly improved/reworked (?) since the last time I played:
- Like the part where missed/accepted the infected ship causing resource storage to zero? Took alot of risk of it.
- The additions of game scenario, structure upgrades, and port's policies made it easier for the town to survive without depending on Telegraph request.
- Added more flags, ship names, and numbers for more validations.

For everything the current game has to offer? It's still OK & passed.

Early Access Review:
What can I say on this game? With 25 hours on record, how can I not recommend this game?

The current core mechanics did meet what this survival management game had to offer. On the question of replayability, well... yes it's expected to restart as you'll feel the challenge of survival of the town. If you lasted 30 mins long on harder difficulty then it's kinda successful & then boring that you would have to start a new one anyway. :P

Looking forward to further updates.

I am trying to understand the gameplay & get accomplishment but I didn't. Played too long to qualify for refund. The theme is fitting but gameplay didn't match to me.

I cannot explain how did I rack up so much of playtime on this game.
What interest me is the modern war-theme, survival management (hunger, mood, supplies, the safehouse, scavenge, etc.), and random challenges & stages. The combination is just right for me.
Basically the gameplay is pick a group, manage, ???, rage, repeat from start???, do better, commit crime (unfortunately I did), survived, repeat from step 1?

That's it for my review?? Thank you??? If confused then go watch on YouTube.

The game is still in early access so lower your expectations. If you came from the early days of the World of Tanks, expect it to be like an alpha release with periodic update to become a full game.

Core functions are ready: tank controls, shell logic need minor corrections, few tank missions, etc.
Some minor fixing:
- few in-battle dialog lines not translated
- shell vs game objects logic (e.g. how the shell behave versus wooden & stick fence, very thin tree)
- FPS drop when there are so many tanks destroyed, optimization needed

So far, no major gameplay bug. No progression is to be save anyway.
