This is honestly one of the most interesting and disturbing games I've ever played. It's quickly became one of my favourite games of all time. 10/10 horror game. Buy it now.

Also you gotta install some patches but there's a great guide that links them!

The game feels devoid of any fun or elements that make me want to go back to it. It feels like such a chore to even play the story mode and fighting enemies gets boring really quickly. It has its positive elements but the negatives completely outshine it for me. There's some great ideas and effort but the boring gameplay combined with the shoddy launch and rampant bugs, I just can't say I recommend it. It's just really dull and lifeless.

This game is still great but it has a lot of technical bugs. For the people who keep getting crashes, look into downloading and installing SilentPatch. It fixes a lot of stability issues and persistent crashing.

Arkham Origins is a game I've been pretty torn on for a few years now. I find it hard to call the game bad, yet struggle to say it's properly good too. If you do in fact consider it to be a part of the main Arkham series, comparing it to Arkham City brings the game down a hell of a lot. Obviously the game wasn't made by Rocksteady but still, so much of this game just feels like a worse version of Arkham City. The map is visually different with a more cleaned up environment and a whole new island. While it's a positive that the map has proper differences to Arkham City, half of the map is still recycled from the old game and gives off a major feeling of unoriginality. The story reeks of wasted potential as like most Batman products nowadays, The Joker is forced into the story and crowned the main antagonist despite Black Mask being marketed as it. Which, would have been a much more interesting story if it were just Black Mask and not The Joker . The game reuses assets from Arkham City, with one instance being very obvious with Gordon holding a TYGER walkie-talkie.

Despite all the negatives above, there are some positives. In general, the game feels like a solid Batman game. The story is mostly alright with decent side missions to play. The detective elements are refreshing and a great addition. Where some could argue other games lacked Batman using his detective skills, Arkham Origins delivers. The combat is still the same as Arkham City's and is mostly fine to play. It feels a lot less fluid when compared to Arkham City and is a little clanky, but it still feels familiar and fun to play. Some new environments like the GCPD building and the Gotham Royal Hotel are really good and great to take in. Despite its recycled overworld, Arkham Origins has good interior environments.

Overall, I still have really mixed opinions on this game. If there were a neutral or mixed button, I'd press it on this review. I recommend it over advising against playing it as it's probably best for you to play it yourself and form your own opinion on it. This is definitely the worst game in the Arkham series if you consider it a part of it, yet it doesn't mean it's terrible. I mostly just feel it's painfully average and sometimes wish I was playing Arkham City instead of this game.
