Really enjoying my time with this so far. It's a lot more enjoyable for me than Madden has been over the last several years. It almost has me feeling like someone made a 8 or 16-bit NFL 2K game. I'm very glad to see the devs are still working on this and putting out updates, I can only hope penalties, player development, drafts, and a dynasty mode end up being added at some point. The biggest issue that I saw another review point out is that sometimes it doesn't matter how good your coverage is, the AI will get random streaks where they effortlessly break through your coverage and then proceed to run 40-60 YD TDs. It's a bit annoying but it's not the worst thing in the world. It will also happen to you and you'll randomly get a kickoff return TD that you had no business getting. Overall, quite happy with my purchase.

As a FPS, nothing amazing here and pretty mediocre at best. But as a Terminator game, it's pretty solid and better than most of the Terminator content we've gotten since 2 came out 30 years ago.

If you're a fan of the series, grab it when it's on sale. You can blow through it in a weekend and the various easter eggs and nods the movies make up for the so-so gameplay you deal with for the first half of the game. The last half of the game really shines through and I only wish it lasted a bit longer. Infiltrator mode is a lot of fun too and it'd be cool if that got fleshed out into it's own game.

I bought this game when it first came out in early access a few years ago and only played about 20 minutes or so only to never touch it again until this year. At the time, I saw the potential but never gave it another shot for ages because it seemed like unless I had a core group of people to play with, it would be a wasted effort.

Boy, was I wrong. This game scratches so many itches I don't know where to begin. It's like someone took Subnautica and Left 4 Dead, threw them in a blender and we got this out of it. I'm amazed it took this long for someone to figure out this formula.

I've put in about 20 hours over the past week but the biggest takeaways have been,

-This game absolutely slaps if you've got a couple of friends to play with.

-If you don't have friends, the community is pretty solid and I've played multiple missions with random people with zero issues or hassle. I'm sure there are occasional jerks out there but I've yet to run into any and I'm willing to bet when I do it'll be a rare occurrence. That is a rare thing to find for most online games and it's things like that that bring me back for more.

-This game is absolutely playable solo, not nearly as fun as playing with a group but it's still very fun.

-This game hits all the right notes for a co-op game. Mining and loot is shared. There's no incentive to try mine more gold, etc than anyone else on your squad because you all get credit for it. This might sound like a weird selling point but it is one of the biggest reasons why this game is so much fun yet so chill to play with complete strangers. You're all working towards the same goal, and no one is penalized because they might have mined slightly less minerals than the other guy.

Seriously, buy this game if any of that sounds remotely appealing to you. Rock and Stone!

World War Fun.

I used to play a lot of Day of Defeat back when it was first released, followed by Day of Defeat Source. While both of those games are much more fast paced and twitch based, for years I never really found a successor for either game that gave me the same level of enjoyment. Red Orchestra came close but that's another story. Anyhow, I gave this game a whirl on the free weekend after having tried Post Scriptum a few months back and not really digging it. I figured it was worth a shot but I would likely not enjoy it as was the case with PS, Day of Infamy, and Battalion 1944.

I am in love. The game is far more welcoming than it seems. Despite the numerous free weekend players making ample mistakes, the community is pretty welcoming and so long as you listen to direction, you'll be fine. I've spent about half my playtime as a squad leader and any time I ran into a mechanic that was new to me, someone on one of the voice channels quickly explained to me whatever it was I needed to know. The game really does reward teamwork and communication. You don't get any kind of hit indicator, but once you've been playing for a little while, it becomes second nature to realize if you've hit someone or not (you can also hit tab to check but that's cheating :P ). High

I will say a mic is a must with this game (but it's 2020 and if you're playing without a mic or a headset, 2001 called).

Everything about this game is just so...satisfying. The story isn't linear at all, the crafting doesn't feel too mundane or too grindy, and it certainly scratches the explore and crafting itch that No Man's Sky claimed it would. Certainly one of the best games I've played over the past few years. Really excited to see what comes next from the devs.

Very fun and addictive game. Very remincient of FTL with a dash of XCOM and Silent Hunter mixed in. Really hope to see the devs to continue to push updates out for this and make future titles in the same vein.

I'm a huge Civilization fan, and have been since I first played Civ II many years ago. Every single Civ game since Civ II, has been able to provide me with that "Just one more turn..." feeling at launch despite any shortcomings or bugs that needed to be ironed out with patches or expansions. I'll even include Beyond Earth in that statement. Sure it had it's flaws, but it had me coming back for more turns (just not as many as IV or V did).

I'm sad to say, Civ VI does not provide me with that same feeling at launch. There are numerous issues that I have with the game. Some of these issues I recognize as being based on my personal tastes rather than any fault on the developers part, but the majority of the major issues I have seem to be common complaints I've seen here and elsewhere, and sadly ignored or swept aside by professional reviewers.

-The UI is woefully inefficient compared to the UI's in IV and V. While I appreciate the drive to try something new (and I admit, I fell very hard for V's UI and design, I love art deco designs), the UI feels less like a fully fleshed out idea, and more like something that is still in the beta stage, being tweaked and primed before launch.

-Tooltips really need a lot of work.

-The map and fog of war design can be a bit of an eyesore and confusing to boot. While I'm fine with the "map" design for undiscovered territory, the fog of war either needs a color change or complete revamp as it can be confusing and a bit of an eye sore in determining what features and resources lay within the fog of war, as well as where the fog of war ends and where the undiscovered portion of the map begins.

-The diplomacy options, while improved (huge fan of the casus belli feature), still need some tweaking. AI players can ask you to remove your troops from their border, but you're unable to make the same request. Why?

-Speaking of AI, it still needs a lot of work. Here's a good example, an AI player will ask you to enter a joint war with them. You agree. The very next turn, the very same AI player will denounce you as a warmonger. Uhhhhh, what?

-You are given no clear indication how diplomatic bonuses and penalties work, beyond a vague "War monger +15", etc. tooltip.

-When AI leaders denounce you, their animation screen loads, you see their denunciation, then another screen loads where (until you meet a particular research requirement) your only option is to say goodbye. I know some people hated the way Civ V's diplomacy worked, but I miss it quite a bit compared to this convoluted yet barebones method of telling me that Cleopatra doesn't think I have a very large army every few turns. Honestly, this whole issue could be solved by not forcing me to watch an animation prior to making a choice every time another civ wants to denounce me or make me an offer.

-The great people and policy cards feel really sparse. While I think the new system shows promise, it's really aggravating to see the list of cards popup and feel like art assets for each great person or policy wasn't included or ready for launch.

-While I think the new mechanics like city districts and the new policy mechanics sounded cool pre-launch, I find myself often confused as to how exactly they and their bonuses work due to the lack of aforementioned tooltips. I get that as I play more, my understanding of them will grow, but it's really frustrating to have to figure it out this way whereas previous Firaxis titles were much much better at communicating how core game mechanics worked.

I'm hoping that I can eventually change this review to a recommend in the coming months, but for right now, I realize that while I'm in the minority, I cannot heartedly recommend this game until it gets some serious TLC from Firaxis.

There's a great base here for what I think can be a truly fantastic addition to the Civ series, it just needs a lot of work to get there. I hope Firaxis can eventually fix these issues and make this the game I know they're capable of making. Buy at your own risk, for now.

Fantastic game. If you're a fan of the older Rainbow Six games, this should be right up your alley.

Bought Victory at Sea, spent 20 minutes playing it and decided that it just wasn't worth the 6 bucks I paid for it.

Long story short,

-Plays like Sid Meier's Pirates, except really really bland, and it's only naval combat.

-Very simplistic gameplay. I mean I wasn't looking for a grognard naval warfare game, but this was literally an even more dumbed down version of Total War's naval battles. I mean if it was that but with WWII ships, I'd likely have kept it.

-No real strategic gameplay or customization of your ships. That would have made the game a lot more fun.

-UI and camera interface was a pain in the ass (can't pan and zoom easily, nor is there sensitivity control for the mouse).

Shame too, because I love this kind of stuff but it just wasn't what I was looking for. Maybe someone will mod the hell out of it. It did have mod support at least.

"Sell the house. Sell the car. Sell the kids. Find someone else. Forget it. I'm never coming back. Forget it."- Typical Civ player an hour after they've started playing.

This game will devour your time, and you will love every minute of it. Buy it now.
