At first I was skeptical about the game with its fanservice and thought many of the features were gimmicks. But, what convinced me to buy the game during the Summer Sale was due to the brilliant reviews, praising the game for its story and its soundtrack.

After playing I come to agree with the raves this game received. NieR: Automata is honestly the best game I have ever played in my life. The story is absolutely amazing. The inspirational music, so intricately produced, varies from the different set pieces, each beautiful in their own right. The original soundtrack is absolutely amazing. The soundtrack makes this game a masterpiece and provides a thrilling atmosphere during intense combat sequences. The various tones carried by each track for each setting or quest completion is perfectly synchronized to evoke feelings at the right moment with chilling accuracy.

Furthermore, the dark themes of this game gives players a chance to reflect on themselves by tackling on the subject of existentialism. There are also light moments but with dark turns that have massive implications which creates a sense of gravity. This sense of gravity is only heightened by the soundtrack and really connects the player with the characters, making them invested in the fate of the protagonists. (Making Ending E worth the extra time to achieve closure)

Summary: This game is a Masterpiece and I am glad I bought it.
