6/10 - A short but sweet basic stealth game that has potential but leaves you feeling it's somewhat incomplete.

You can finish it in one sitting if you play through it on normal. Hard mode is rage fuel so I cannot recommend it. If looking to buy this pick it up while on sale as it's rather short experience.

Now the positives, the game shines in it's art style and soundscape it really is unique combined with the vague story leaves you wondering what the lore is. It encourages stealth which is good with the hard difficultly making it harder to lean on gun play as a crutch.

In terms of gameplay it's good but there's room for improvement:
-Cameras (Like the ones from bioshock but they suck) they are so easy to avoid making them pointless, they need a bigger circle to be a better hindrance.

-It lacks a way to distract enemies, an intractable environment would have been a great way to draw guards away so you can slip past or kill them but sadly this game lacks it. So combat turns into a slow repeat of crouching towards enemy, observe their patrol, sneak up behind them, kill them. It's a lot of waiting and brute forcing enemy pathing till you get a route that works which gets old after a couple levels.

-The surrender mechanic is useless, if another guard bumps into a pacified guard they re-activate removing any purpose for using this mechanic over just killing them. Now if there was a achievement for not killing anyone or some sort of bonus for completing a level while minimising kills now that could work.

-No collectables, I felt while playing it could have done with something to encourage exploration outside of ammo and the assassination targets. As the levels are nicely designed and would benefit from making it worth going out your way to look around.

-There's very little gameplay story telling, it feels like it's missing be it notes, guard dialog, anything to explain what's going on and why. At first I thought it could be a dark souls situation of being dropped into a world with a figure it out approach required but there's nothing to find to fill the gaps in this game which makes the experience a bit hollow.

All in all a fun tight package that I heavily critiqued above as I feel this has great potential if it was improved upon in the future which sadly I don't think will happen. Now in it's current state I still recommend it but I suggest getting it on discount so you don't feel disappointed.
