"There is a theory which states that if ever for any reason anyone discovers what exactly the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another that states that this has already happened."

I'm not generally a big fan of the whole JRPG style of game. That's important content here, because I have most definitely become a fan of this game.

The pixel art here is wonderfully done, and this is further demonstrated by the fact that the player is able to clearly understand character interactions and plot without a single word being spoken in the game. On top of not having to worry about translation issues, this just clearly proves that the 16-bit-era graphics are superb and provide easy clarity not only as to action, but emotion as well.

And that is really what this game is about...friendship, understanding, empathy, and putting others' needs before your own. If none of that interests you, well, then this game probably won't be your cup of tea (and the rest of us will hope that you someday find help for your tiny, Grinch-like heart :D).

I enjoyed that there weren't unnecessary JRPG battles between cutesy characters that don't make sense as warriors. I think that it's great that Freebird realized that this is a story first and foremost, and focused on the plot and the emotional impact the storyline should deliver. Some complain that it's a bit short, but I say it rather doesn't overstay its welcome. I pay more per hour to see a movie, and I was more moved and entertained by this game that most films I've seen the past couple of years. As far as I'm concerned, this was money well spent.

If any of this sounds compelling to you, then I'd encourage you to pick this game up and play it when you need a good emotional boost and have 1-2 hours of contiguous time to spend with it. If you find it on sale, then nab it right away, but the full price is easily justifiable.
