This is a great game, and it's a worthy successor to The Dark Descent. Sure, Rebirth isn't perfect, but it makes up for its shortcomings with it's stunning environments and terrifying atmosphere. Some critics have said that the level of immersion and sense of dread didn't carry over from The Dark Descent. Personally, I disagree. This game had me on the edge of my seat almost the entire time, and I couldn't help but press forward endlessly despite my fear. That said, there were moment's that felt a bit stale toward the end, and there were some plot elements that came across as cheesy rather than provoking the intended, sympathetic response. All in all it was an incredible experience, and uncovering the disturbing reality that is the story of Amnesia: Rebirth is not something I will soon forget. It makes Alexander's labyrinthine, torture fun-house in Brennenburg Castle look like child's play.

Give it a try!
