TLDR: Game is a lot of fun and combat is way better than Dark Souls in my opinion. End-game is kind of far but it changes stuff around to keep you enticed. If you like the Dark Souls games but want a Japanese version besides Sekiro, play Nioh 2.

This game is definitely my favorite "souls-like" game by far. Nioh 2's combat is extremely fun, once I finished the game and was leveling up all the other weapons I had fun using every single one. I could not say the same for Dark Souls, there were definitely weapons that were very boring, only had one attack, did little to no damage so they weren't even viable, etc. Though in Nioh, every weapon is viable and the amount of builds you can make (I love making builds in games, I have a word document with different builds I want to try in Skyrim) is amazing. The amount of armor sets, all with their own set bonuses, along with weapons and accessories that have THEIR own set bonuses is a little intimidating when you first start. I bought this game close to my birthday and played it religiously for almost a month. The only reason I stopped playing is because I had to start my school finals and I updated League of Legends so I wanted to play that in my free time.

The maps are quite nice, both graphically and layout wise. There's an actual story that you can follow and in my opinion it's a pretty good one. The sound design and music is nice from what I've heard. The voice-acting
sounds nice, I don't speak Japanese so I can't really say for sure if the voice acting is good or not.

The end-game does seem a bit far, unlocking the underworld requires you to beat the game 4 times I think, which is kind of excessive but it's not that big of a deal. Especially since it does change the game up each run, with enemies being replaced with late-game enemies, enemies and bosses getting new attacks and burst attacks and whatnot so you can't always know what to expect. Overall, I love this game and almost put as many hours into it as I have into Dark Souls 3 but in a third of the time (life-time wise) probably.
