I have never written a detailed review before so please bear with me. I felt like I had to write one to show how disappointed I am in Dying Light 2. I loved the first DL and played through it multiple times and always had a great time, that's why I was really excited and hyped for DL2.
I really wanted to like DL2 and I tried to have as much fun as possible, but I just couldn't enjoy it as much as the first one.
Here are some reasons why:

The parkour was decent, when it was working. In my opinion, they added too much bells and whistles to the parkour and most of the stuff didn't even work. I get that DL is all about parkour and it's what made DL1 great for me and I get why they chose to make it 'fancier' and 'more fun', but in DL2 most of the time the moves don't work and you end up falling to your death. This made some of the challenges and quests really frustrating. They should've kept it simple and straight to the point.

The story was... well.. bad. I played the whole story together with a friend of mine and we were both confused most of the time. The dialogues were weird and most of the time it didn't make any sense. It felt like the writers just put in the necessary information and didn't bother with the coherence. The story itself was confusing and boring, nothing like the first game, where things happened for a reason and with a buildup. In DL2 things just happen without any explanation.
EG minor spoiler: You pass out and wake up completely somewhere else without any explanation.
In addition to that, to me, almost all the characters felt insignificant, they were just there to give you information and that's it. There were a few that are great and they carry the story, but I didn't feel any 'connection' to them and I wasn't bothered if they died or whatever happened to them.

The combat was decent, but it was too easy imo. (Yes we played co-op, before you say co-op is easier, it wasn't the issue, we both tried to solo the bosses and hordes of enemies and it still wasn't hard.) Most of the 'boss fights' were boring and wasn't anything different from any normal enemy, just more health.

The most disappointing thing for me was the night time. It's nothing compared to DL1, the night time in DL2 doesn't feel like night, just day time but a bit darker. It wasn't scary to go out in the night time like DL1, which made it really disappointing for me, because that's the reason I fell in love with DL1. The thrill of getting chased by Volatiles and how scary it was to get a night time mission and actually preparing before going out in the night.
Minor spoiler again: In the night time, there are no Volatiles like the first game, they only spawn at certain dark zones or you have chase level 4

And last thing I want to mention are the bugs. Oh god the bugs. IMO they should've delayed it again and did more bug fixes. The most significant ones were the ones that didn't allow us to progress further because dialogue wouldn't start or a door wouldn't open. We had to restart the multiplayer session to fix the issue.
Some of the bugs were funny though and did make us laugh a lot.
One last honorable mention: the crawling animation in vents, it made us laugh a good half an hour.

tl;dr: The game is decent if you want to play it for the parkour, it can be satisfying jumping and swinging around. (When it works and does what you want). And the multiplayer is actually pretty fun, if you can handle the bugs, but don't play it for the story because it's just bad and confusing. Get it on sale, in my opinion it's not worth the 60 euros. Like I said, I really wanted to like the game and had high expectations from Techland but DL2 is just not it.
