Cool game that charges so much for the DLC that it's not even worth trying, unless you're willing to spend over 100 dollars on a game that should never go over half that cost.

This is in early access. What's there is good. If you like adventuring, exploring, and building, you will have a good time. If you're looking for MMO dungeon-type experiences, you're going to have to wait a bit to really get a taste of that.

Criticisms about the game's "lack of story" are valid if you're looking for a story-heavy experience. Gameplay is absolutely top tier. Microtransaction criticisms are absurd. While I absolutely hate MTX in every game and never want them, the stuff in the store is effortlessly obtainable in the game.

Runemaster is the most insane class ever created in an ARPG.

I'm having a great time playing this game. The performance issues are there, but I can keep constant 60fps on an 8700k and a 2080 at 1080p. I've had the audio desync issue once, but it fixed as soon as I changed zones (went back to town). The 70 dollar price tag is absurd, but that's not a slight on this game, but the industry as a whole. Being a MH vet, I felt quite disenfranchised with MH:Rise, but this game is a huge breath of fresh air into the hunting genre.

UPDATE: I'm back to playing. I love this game. This game is the best thing to happen to the Monster Hunting genre. MHR:Sunbreak is like an arcade beat 'em up compared to World, and Wild Hearts was exactly what I needed after being disappointed in MH:Rise and Sunbreak

Publisher has changed and game is a cash grab till death.

The microtransations are entirely cosmetic. The server issues were only present in the first day. If you're looking for Valheim, it isn't here. This is a co-op rogue-like with some basic survival game mechanics. If you're looking for Dark Souls / Diablo / Path of Exile combat, this is a simplistic version of that. Positioning can still be important in fights, but you aren't going to be getting crazy build options like those games.

What this game is trying to do, it does very well.
