Frankly speaking, if this is all we get out of the multiplayer - a very mixed bag.
Pro
- Solid gameplay, honestly they got this in the bag on at least this point.
- Presentation is good with some nitpicks (sound design comes to mind first and foremost)
Cons
- Customization is...not there. It is all monetized to hell and back and if you thought you have freedom of customization - think again. Pay up or shut up is the motto of this game effectively.
- Why is it a motto? Next point, getting anything is a bloody chore and a fustercluck and a half. Challenges? Range from "Passable" to "Why did you make this so specific that it takes up a 6 day ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slot". Seriously, this absolutely needs a rework and how the hell did they think this'd bloody fly?
- Another point to this - customization is lacking even if you DO get it. Free stuff? Trickle of it, you mostly get XP boosts or challenge swaps (I can see why they added this when you have that abysmally specific challenge that might not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ proc when you need it to!), and an occasional (maybe every 5-6 levels) cosmetic bit. Armor? Ha, pay up.

In short - this is a game absolutely KILLED by the bloody monetization and attempts to nickle and dime users. If this could have been avoided by paying? I would rather bloody pay. But even for an F2P title this is abysmal.

This game used to be good, riiiight before they started ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up with The Forsaken DLC, adding more and more ways to grind. I thought "Hey, Bungie ditched ActiBlizz! Grind will be gone right!?", hell no. It's worse now, "Oh you liked Menagerie? It allowed you to grind in a relatively fun way? Go the hell away", all the good ♥♥♥♥ is gone. Throw this in the trash. Bungie will keep making excuses to "vault" stuff so they can force you to grind-grind-grind. And I thought it was all thanks to ActiBlizz.

Possibly 'the' best Build shooter to date, well done arsenal that encourages switching on the fly for maximum efficiency coupled with mix of new modern takes, IE locational damage, and including older tricks that didn't get used often, in that regard - Blood style NPC accuracy stance modifier, so remember to crouch. Fun as hell and highly recommended. Though do be warned, the secrets are numerous, some are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pain in the ass to find.

For those who may be on the fence about this game after having played or heard about Evil Within 1. This game heavily improved upon the originals gameplay. It's less focused on (IMO at least) annoying 1HKO bosses.
Now, having completed this game on nightmare. I have to reinforce my thoughts on this game. It's a treat. It takes what was great and amplifies it, giving off vibes of the classical survival horror titles like Silent Hill and resident evil at times, revelling in its campiness but also keeping a solid story and pacing.
Open world works much like certain silent hill stages where you have an open playground to go from point A to B, with additional things along(or outside) the path. Combat has been kept, though it is alot more upbeat with the reworked stealth mechanics, allowing a more careful and methodical approach to stages.
The ambiance of the game is magnificent, that together with pacing keeps a good grip on the players tension, allowing for good moments.
In my opinion - a masterpiece from a survival horror genre founder. Grab this if you can!

I just got this game, but I got through what I guess can be called "First chapter" which had about 4-5 missions, so I feel I have enough of an experience to say this.
This game reminded me of my first time playing Dawn of War, controlling an army that can churn through anything if I am careful.
The simple controls, magnificent visuals, easy to understand unit mechanics make this very satisfying to play, and singleplayer is challenging enough that you can go through it to unlock additional flag icons. This game is no doubt a good find for anyone who enjoys solid RTS titles. Grab it while you can!

I got the preorder to this as a gift from a friend. I expected an alright fun zombie smashfest, not much else. That and the whole Dead Island thing was a bit of a depressing thing but I was hopeful and when this game came out, boy was I glad I got this.
This title is genuinely "Better than I expected", it was a sleeper hit, I remember everyone nagging that this'd fail miserably that it'd be horrible, etc etc ad nauseum. But it turned out to be a very fun zombie fest combined with a decent story, good coop and fun content to play through. It is well worth the price and the continued upkeep just makes this game even better with age.

"Holy crapbaskets Batman, a sci-fi horror game!" you're probably saying sarcastically at this, thinking "Ah, Dishonored 2 was ♥♥♥♥". Well let me break this down for ya.

Prey, while indeed having no connection to the original series, is a very solid, very coherent and so far rather satisfying sci-fi horror game, it is no System Shock of course, but it is very close to Bioshock, with more rpg backbone in regards to Neuromods. The atmosphere of the game is very well done, and aliens are satisfying to fight against, so far i'm 4 hours in, but its already doing immensly well. The performance optimization is outstanding, and while they could do with bringing over some more options (I.E. motion blur, FOV), it's not too bad either way. I dare say it's a very good addition to anyones library.

:EDIT: Adding upon completion of the game.
So in total, this game is a remarkable little gem that I was expecting to be a mere pretty stone.

It improved upon the bioshock mechanics by relying more on the roleplaying aspect, creating a neat little narrative that all folds into a concrete story aboard Talos 1. In all respects it has its flaws, but what it has crafted is a magnificent work of art and I salute the people at Arkane for bringing back that joy of Sci-Fi RPG's back to us.

You didn't quite reach System Shock, but you should be proud to stand right beside it as an apprentice who succeeded in being nearly as good as the masters. I salute everyone who worked on this game.

But now, off with the flattery, down to the nitty-gritty for those who should read this.

The combat while clunky, is good in a sense, it reminds me of claustrophobic moments in the similar titles. There're some downsides to it, like somewhat of a lackluster arsenal, but it works all around, with each weapon being a well designed piece in your armory.

The alien species are rather varied, each pushing you towards different tactics, forcing you to adapt to one or the other, and to be prepared. Some issues of note is somewhat of an issue with hitboxes when you throw items at them but I'm sure that'll be fixed.

The story is...complicated. I will leave this passage rather empty, but I will say this. Arkane harnessed their mistakes and blunders from Dishonored 2 and made them work for the story, making it just that bit better.

Anyways, my verdict is - if you love the *Shock series, be it System Shock or BioShock, grab this title. It'll be really well worth your time.
