If you're looking at this game you're probably gonna buy it anyway.
It's better than running the original on DOSbox.

As long as you turn the settings down, and figure out the right balance for you it works fine. (we pc jammers ought to be used to this by now)
Nvidia Reflex and Low Latency OFF fixed any crashes.

Gameplay is solid, it's an immersive sim gumbo. Take the best parts out of all of Arkane's games throw it in the pot and boil it down to some creamy emergent goodness.
People complain about about difficulty, and I do hope they add a harder difficulty. But most of that is because of the lack of saving and the addition of the multiplayer PVP segment.

If you buy it and you enjoy it give it a thumbs up. This game deserves the overwhelmingly positive review the OG dishonored has.

Early Access Review
As much as I enjoy Onward, I cannot recommend it. You may have seen other reviews talk about the quest downgrade and that's only part of why I can't recommend it. It's extraordinarily rare to find a match of people who are willing to communicate, let alone assist new players. The facebook acquisition split the community to the point where most people will leave upon hearing someone younger and a majority of the original player base either has left the game entirely or play private games exclusively. The Co-op mode is all but completely broken with AI that simply pathfinds to the sound of gunfire and sprays wildly at the sight of a player, the maps were not designed with terrorist hunt gameplay in mind. The PvP can be a good bit of fun if you're lucky but I've found it to be more bothersome finding a game of people who can be bothered to play anything other than it's only real competitor with a lower time to kill.

What prompted me to write this, was noticing the july update's steam post's discussion was locked after receiving backlash. Understandably so when the company was recently bought out by facebook, and has been recently discovered that a sequel is coming to this early access game.

TLDR: The only real milsim VR shooter doesn't have enough players, the coop is jank, and the community that exists is extremely split, and it seems the dev is generally uncaring to the PCVR players who initially got this title off.

Early Access Review
Zero Hour, despite being in early access, and with it's plethora of bugs has been an extremely refreshing experience for me. Many of these reviews complain the movement and gunplay to be clunky, and while it could definitely use some polish, I find it weighty and deliberate. Almost as if your carrying 50-100lbs of gear on you.
The maps, which from what I've read are based on real world locations, despite this they feel well designed and balanced. With each presenting different tactical challenges and allowing for several different strategies for both defending and attacking.
Attackers lack gadgets where defenders lack firepower, so the asymmetrical gameplay really forces each side to play differently. While I do feel defenders need another main weapon, and attackers need more gadgets, I'm sure the developers have these problems addressed.
Some suggestions though. Less-than-lethal means of neutralizing opponents was always fun in SWAT's PvP so perhaps Zero Hour could have their own crazed peppersprayman.
Various actions, like interacting with the junction box should have an animation that locks them in place for a very short duration, forcing players to secure the area before interacting.
I see attempts have been made to prevent spawnpeeking and spawnbombing however I have noticed, particularly in residential, that it is rather easy to shoot a window out and chuck a grenade out towards the van.
To conclude, if you're on the fence about buying this game and it seems like your cup of tea, it's a 6th of the price of any triple A title, and a third the price to it's most similar AAA competitor, and you get 100% of the content it has to offer out of the box. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this game, and can't wait to see where the developers take this game in the future.

TL:DR As buggy as it is, not only does it have potential but is a complete blast to play in its current state. 9/10 for an early access title.
