I only have 741 hours in this game, I'm not sure I'm experienced enough to give it a review.

Gorgeous track. Can't flaw it at all. Only issue I have is the frame rates are ridiculous in a full online race (of 100). They're also kind of ridiculous in half that number. I don't know if the devs can do something about that or if this is going to come down to people hosting servers limiting every race to quarter capacity because even people on modern computers are having issues. Will change this review if that changes, but you should be aware.

EDIT: The FPS issue was fixed with a patch released right after I posted this review.

Fun. Innovative. And reasonably priced. This feels like a breath of fresh air into the tower defense genre. Support these devs!

Edit: Even though it looks like I haven't played this game a lot... it's because I didn't. But still think it's amazing.

My current recommendation is spend money, buy Squad.

42 hours in and I'm enjoying everything but the ranger class. I would love it if this entire game could be played with keyboard instead of having to use the mouse for one class. Otherwise, love it. Woohoo.

If you like war but don't like watching your real friends die & never come back... or would like to skip out on the terrible nightmares & daymares and just mares in general about that experience... buy this game & play it. It makes war seem faaaaaantastic while also not making the rest of your life --and the life of anyone who loves you- hell.

P.S.

Please don't play this game and think "Man, I bet this would be even more fun in real life!" It might be more fun... until your best good friend gets killed by a river in Vietnam. Or wherever Emperor Trump is going to war next.

Hour 1: This game sucks!
Hour 2: I hate this game! It makes no sense! If it wasn't so pretty to look at it, I'd never play it again!

I'm writing this with only 30 minutes of test-time with it because the only thing I think anyone needs to know, before deciding to buy this (I figure you are already bought-in on the gameplay style) is whether or not the controls are solid. The answer is... YES. They are pretty much perfect for a game like this. I was able to instantly jump in and use the controls without even thinking about where I wanted to move. Will I buy this game? Nope. I lost interest in this type of game a long time ago. But they nailed the controls.
