reminds me of my childhood

One of the best games every made, phenomenal 10/10 story, all the characters and every part of the story is intriguing. The puzzles are challenging but not too hard and fit the game perfectly.

Amazing game that is a must play for everyone.
I think fricitonal games' Soma is their best game, but dark decent is just as amazing and you must play it.

not the best or the scariest amnesia game, but definitely has some great and creepy moments. The amount of cut scenes is annoying and the game was a few hours longer than it should have been. There were also waaaaaay too many notes and cut scenes that really slowed and kind of ruined the pacing of the game at times. I got a bit of an information overload, which made me start skipping some notes because i couldn't be bothered to read them anymore. Having this many notes and cut scenes also ruins one aspects that can make horror games great, which is showing not telling. Amnesia the dark decent did this by using fewer and more vague notes, and that's why its story is so compelling and intriguing, it makes you more interested in unravelling the story and peaks curiosity.

I enjoyed the story and the setting, but i think amnesia dark decent and machine for pigs had a dark gritty and isolation feeling quality that i think rebirth lacked. Maybe it was because rebirth has many walking outside sequences with the sun shining, or maybe because there are too many characters and human encounters. The game just didn't feel isolated or dark and gritty enough for me.

However, even tho the game was not isolated enough for me, there were some great interactions. Especially the segment that took place in the maze area with the doors that open when you stand on the pedestals, when that character talked to you while looking for you. I don't know why but i really loved that part of the game, it was so creepy and made me very curious. Although the level design of this game isn't great, and it doesn't refer back to the original games very well. Moments like this one appear in the game every now and then, which really saved it for me.

But overall, a solid amnesia game and a pretty damn good horror game. I will always think dark decent is better, but id say this game is either on par or slightly better than machine for pigs (and im one of the few people who enjoyed that game).

nothing prepares you for this. i cheered, i shouted, i fist pumped the air, i cried, i stood and cheered, it was absolutely everything you hoped it was gonna be. Im so proud to have played it. And i cant wait for you to play it
