I'll be straight forward.
This is Monster Hunter World and a sprinkle of Rise with a splash of remixed member-berries.
It's a lot more accessible and streamlined between that set of games and this one.

If they can add more layered armors and general collectibles/challenges through time, maybe a raid boss style monster or two (I'd add make the ability to play Multi-Player to be a lot more straightforward as well, but I won't hold my breath)- then this'll be my definitive for the time game for hunting monsters and the like. It's good- but not as Great as the community wants it to be.

If you have a compatible and driver up-to date rig for the game, then absolutely give this game a whirl at the worst on a minimal discount.

Man there's a lot I want to say about this game...
Firstly- the setting and music is quite interesting. You've got a time setting of the 1920s in a high fantasy horror spin of a story where you play as an Amnesiac woman given the name of Clara. You run around with a rather colorful and intriguing cast of characters where you can play as most of them. This game will kill you, no question in my mind- it's unforgiving in difficulty at the very beginning of the game and you're meant to die to be able to get better as you play it more and more. The story leaves you curious to the happenings within Penny Blood as a whole and as a prequel only gets me more excited for the big story to come! Movement is interesting and the means of mobility and maneuverability are quite a blast to learn and master. The character dialogue is quite charming for later teenagers to adults as well. The music is also quite a masterful selection even If it isn't all that over the top- you feel the atmosphere and enjoy it whether you're focused in on it or not.

If I had any mild complaints and requests/feedback to be- It would be these based on what I've played:

-Healing is fairly minimal and If I had anything to say- it's that I would like to see a better balance of how much you pay or give to actually heal sufficiently at a Recovery Stage.
-It would be fantastic If there was Local Coop for this game as there's already Online Coop.

As you get stronger and stronger, the enemies don't feel like they have the ability to scale very well against you as you get further into the game however, It would be nice to see a level of dynamic difficulty increase based on your very own power the further you get in and based on your own stats rather than a flat default value.

I personally enjoy that this is a game that gives you power, but the monsters you face become less monstrous as you become more powerful You feel a real means of Adversity regardless of how you play within it's story while you attempt to unravel the mysteries beneath. I cannot wait for Penny Blood to come out in full when it's ready and I love the prequel that helps you be introduced to the universe and story of the game to come, this has so much more love and care than I expected and It makes me more excited for what is to come. (It personally makes me hope that Penny Blood could have an Early Access period or something like a short demo for players to get riled up on). If you like these kinds of games, you're sleeping on it if you don't try it.

*DISCLAIMER*: I've only created two characters and looked very briefly into the introduction, so this is purely impression-based and my review / critiques are based on simple UI, accessibility and graphical impressions on a Steam Deck, using the Steam Dock Station. So take my words with a grain of salt.

This game has me in a really intriguing middle ground.

Graphical Views: I think stylistically..? It's neat and most importantly, very ambitious for the project style it is. You get some fun and cool options to play around with. You can be a Human, Elf, Demon, Angel, Amari (Think spirit infused human that has like part animal qualities infused to their look), Elemental and Naga.
This game would sincerely blow up with a humongous graphical overhaul with the modding community and personally? I'd love to see that someday for a game like this. This game did excellently on the character portraits, but I do wish a little bit more love in certain aspects of the game's assets or similar got a touch more touch up to the same effect and quality of say... more anti-aliasing I guess? I notice this the most on the character sprite work/art as It takes me back to the days of GraalOnline if there's any oddballs who can remember such a time/game played.

Accessibility: I personally feel this game in ways does fail in places when it comes down to support input wise, It claims Partial Controller Support and honestly? I do hope It goes full OR improves from where it is at from the point of this review being written. I feel It's a moment where If they do, they'd only benefit majorly and If they were to say remove any means of it? That'd be okay on my personal opinion too- but this current means of it really ♥♥♥♥♥ with me as It gets in the way of how you even play the game If you're on gamepad.

UI: I feel It does this part of the game pretty alright, It's pretty dense, but it's not inaccessible to actually read. Going through the skills and using the map is pretty enjoyable and I feel that I don't lose track of any important data that I need as I go.

Overall: I think the game itself, is very interesting for what little I've played, I'd gladly recommend this to be played on your PC, on Mouse/Keyboard for sure. If It changes up the input support with time? Even more reason.

Just a few words: Wow, what a trip this game is.
The Art, The Music and the Pacing are just high tier and well done.

If you want a game that'll impress for little; this is a fine choice.

Short and fun story to adventure through.
The visuals are breathtaking in both the choice of theme and dynamic lighting presented.

I'm extremely happy to have played it through, my one selfish wish is that the story could have either had more to it or a whole different story in a similar or same universe would come forward eventually. The music was very good for its purpose and quite enjoyable overall. This is not difficult by any stretch of the imagination in my personal opinion and worth it If you want something well made and digestible in a minimal amount of time in nothing but good quality design.

Fun to play If you like reaching out to talk to strangers.
Not everybody's cup of tea.

My hours easily indicate that I have too much free time.
No VR required to actually play, but have fun with the "community atmosphere" surrounding that.
Go nuts.

I've played this for a very short time; so take what you will of it with my words and review:

This for a self disciplined individual who just wants to keep himself moving while unable to be out and about for movement? This game is an excellent option.
I'm playing using an HTC Vive headset, base stations and the Valve Index Hands for my hand peripherals.

Now I got this purely on the fact that with it- you can do BOXING related cardio exercise and have it automatically done on your very own music playlists; which in itself is very simple to do.

If you've got an eclectic taste of music like myself? I feel this does a half-decent job on mapping for activity for those kinds of music. My only complaint in this department is that it is a bit weird in how it handles it on a difficulty basis and it's not for bad reason. Easy difficulty even for my out of shape self felt a little bit too slow tempo'd regardless of the music and how it felt; it would leave you with a fair bit more breathing room than I felt It needed and sometimes the change-ups while they fit, they would also feel incomplete. Now as I am bringing this up- I do want to make it further clear to answer that yes, the higher difficulties do feel much better; so don't start this on easy unless you have a major learning curve to come up against for things like boxing stance, form and the like.

I am a intermediate experienced individual for the actual act of boxing at best; beginner If you must think of me as such for the sake of interpretation. I felt this program has not only been easy to understand and play; but very fun for myself as well. I brought this game up to a majority of friends with eyes full of excitement; a good amount of them would say "Oh well I already have Beat Saber for that." and for a short moment I had thought "I guess?". Personally comparing the two games while they're technically both rhythm games- Beat Saber I do not believe was designed as strongly in mind for exercise as it was entertainment. I've read and experienced similar phenomenon as other people that a good hour of Beat Saber by comparison would feel and equal to about... 15-20 minutes of BoxVR and I'll 100% endorse and agree to that statement. I would also like to address on the notion while this is all good and well for the experience of the game- I wouldn't consider this a game at its present time by internal design a means of Teaching You How to Box by form or by haptic feedback feeling to guide you more properly; you do need to know how to actually do some basic boxing to play this to the best of your ability and to have the most capable results.

This game offers the idea of coursed classes, multiplayer (not sure how big this is; but I didn't buy this for multiplayer), create your own music playlists with automated beatmap creation, statistics on your exercise and more! The creators of this game really did put a decent amount of heart into the game and as far as how much it is being updated..? I don't know- but in its current state I am loving what it has to offer and could offer. My biggest take away from this is that the game also offers a couple of class sets available as DLC for what appears to be $9.99 USD; which from what it seems to grant is far from worth the value of the initial game itself- If they could perhaps grant more valuable reason to have full blown classes with auditory and even visual instruction with interactive and cinematic directions for the user- this could make them worth their weight and likely more and even become something Educational to those who purchase this product; otherwise the DLC fall flat on their face and seem very two dimensional compared to the fully third dimensional and fleshed out core concepts this game has an accumulation of.

If you are looking for a game that enables the option of enjoying your music or workouts in a few different ways at the same time and need to feel a real sweat as you do it? Choose this game If Beat Saber wasn't your cup of tea. My only desire for this game as silly as it sounds- I wish It were a 19.99 or perhaps 24.99 dollar game instead just so people would be more enticed by the hidden gem nature of this game when it's fully understood.

Neversong is a wonderfully illustrated tale of a young boy with friends in a demented world of his own dream and design.
You are genuinely put into a character position of being a kid again- thinking of obtuse and bizarre concepts and ways to logically solve puzzles in what feels like a mixture of Our Darker Purpose's theme on Children (Tim Burton style works if you're not familiar I guess?), Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time-like mechanics involving music as an undertone in the story as you find out who and why Wren, your childhood friend has been kidnapped! This is about as much as I can write without going into heavy spoiler territory as the game's story while it is short- it is worth its value to be enjoyed with fresh eyes receptive to it. (Pretty sure this game is already being speedran to sub 35 minutes or so)

In my opinion- this is not the most original work considering its inspirations; but it is an enjoyable work nevertheless.
The voice actors/actresses are just the right kind of voices for a story book- everywhere to the chaotic charms of Punky, the stereotypical, yet atypical Chad- yes, even right down to Simeon; who's the angsty, yet poetic bully to our protagonist. This game tackles some pretty serious themes in an indirect and yet visceral manner; which as the game immediately tells you that it may not be for the faint of heart- regardless of how tough your skin is as a player or whatever you may be sensitive towards.

I would go so far as to even say this: If Hollow Knight for whatever reason was the right kind of gameplay for you- but not enough of a story for you with its adventure; this may be at least a stab in the right direction then.

Neversong is a love letter to a number of things and at least for me; It was a letter well received. 14.99 for this game is a perfect price to experience this. Thank you guys at Atmos Games / Serenity Forge for making this game.

Early Access Review
Disclaimer: This is not so much a review as it is an impression based on the limited time I've played (1.3 hours according to steam as of writing)

Fun roguelike slow-progression side scrolling RPG.
Still early access so I can't really go too deep into anything structure related such as story- but I can at least say for gameplay that it's a decent amount of fun. It's like a simpler version of Rogue Legacy in my eyes- except you will likely get your class on the way if not from the quickly unlocked Fox Hunter instead of being given your class statically from the start. Very rarely do I feel the damage I take isn't my fault and If I'm being honest- it's usually from a lack of getting the timing down for myself. I do wish it was a bit more intricate with the world building; but I understand that it's just to get the gameplay onto a workable surface.

It's not an award winning game per say in my book for what it does; but it's certainly worth any accolades given to it as it stands as another decent option in an over-saturated sea of games similar to it.

tl;dr: Sorta like Rogue Legacy If it also took a lot of "bones" from something like Medieval with a more simpler story and a similar amount of charm. Totally worth playing.

I do like the idea of Soundself- it is unique as a program concept; but unfortunately do not believe it warrrants a 30 dollar price tag, pure and simple. I even believe it is effective and the bottom line is this is at best a 20 dollar program or otherwise something you get on a heavy sale price. If they gave more features within this sophisticated package I'd reconsider my thoughts.
