I suppose if you are a huge hardcore Battlemech fan, you will enjoy this game.

However, the basic game formula is just so BORING. You drop your lance on a planet, fight somewhere between 4-12 enemies, and if you survive you move on. Rinse and repeat forever. I really tried to get into it, but I just got tired of playing.

So far the intro cinematic is the best part of the game, and given most of the popular community content is just re-posted artwork from in-game cut-scenes just shows there's not much to look at.

When is someone going to make a new Mechwarrior or Mechcommander game? Hell maybe I'll hook up my old Xbox and play Mechassault. Now that old game was FUN!

This game has a certain special something to it.

But it also has problems.

But every once in a while, you can hear the 'Ride of the Valkyries' playing in your head.

But...

Screw it, play it anyway.

There's just not enough of a game in here to justify it. It feels like a mod for mount and blade, not a fully developed game.
Poorly balanced.
Poorly made.
Bad user interface.
Poor spelling.
Unimaginative story.
No real campaign progression.
Ridiculous maps.
Losing a single battle can ruin your career.
Poor economy.
I literally got bored while playing.

But:
It has a lot of potential.

But:
It was seemingly abandoned some time ago.

EDIT: Just re-installed and played again to see if maybe I was being harsh, and on my first battle I got stuck in a tree, couldn't save, couldn't restart, couldn't finish the battle because the enemy were in an inaccessible part of the map. [Screenshots on file.]
I literally experienced a game-breaking bug in the first ten minutes of play!

This game is absolute garbage. Do not buy it you are being scammed.

So I originally bought this out of curiosity to see whether or not the reviews were correct.
Turns out, they are.
This is one heck of a fun card game.

I will never buy another Paradox product again.
